Baby elephant at the National Zoo.
Went to see baby Linh Mai at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park a few weeks ago. But she's real shy, so I drew from other pictures of different elephant babies.

It's been a while since I read Moby Dick. Any details Melville mentioned that I forgot?
Also, I've been wondering: is Ahab his first or last name? (I did not read it very closely).
I do a thing on youtube where I just draw in my sketchbook and talk over it. I can't believe Pippi is not more popular in America, but apparently Lindgren's estate is much pickier about adaptations than Tolkien's estate, which is a good thing.
A quick Godzilla with a Bimoji brush pen. I thought about coloring it, but, like, why? Godzilla is all black and gray, and the best movies are black and white. Gild not the lily!
Are these still circulating somewhere? I imagine there’s no chance of any officially licensed release. Maybe as a Criterion Collection extra…
I don’t need a source or a link. Hunting is half the fun! But I want to know I’m not chasing ghosts.
Calvin: six years old in 1985, and six years old in 1995. He's a millennial, Hobbes is a millennial, and I refuse to believe that Hobbes is a mere figment of Calvin's imagination. If Calvin grows up, Hobbes grows up too, and even if they go their separate ways, they can still meet up in an airport bar to share a glass over the good times.
Seppuko before AI. Process video here.
Our sunset cruise got rained out, but at least we got a few good pictures.
Did this a while ago, but it wasn't Mer-May a while ago. I personally like mermaids more when they're a little creepy, and you can't tell if they're going to save your life or eat you.
I recorded the whole thing, and put the process video on youtube, just in case anyone ever suspects I used AI.
I showed my wife Robocop for the first time a few months ago, and based solely off of that, drew Robocop in my sketchbook the next day, from memory. So, some of the details may be wrong, but I like to think those are just details Verhoeven couldn't afford to include. If you're interested in process videos, you can find mine here, but if you want one with just the art, that's here.
I had to split the whole family into three videos: Gomez and Morticia, Fester and Grandmama, and then Wednesday, Pugsley, and Lurch.
Just my take on the Addams originals.
So I watched David Lynch's The Elephant Man a few months ago, and then I went out and read a whole bunch about Joe Merrick and then I read David Lynch's biography, and I decided, "Hey, maybe I should do some sketches of that movie I apparently liked so much."
Like, 3 months later, I remember reddit exists. I am not a quick man.
I crazy love Snufkin, from Tove Jansson's Moominvalley stories. So I drew him in my style, thrice, using a crow quill pen, and did a little deep dive on youtube into why I like this little dude so much.
This is my first build, and I’m sure there’s some sort of planking trick that I’m missing to make this second layer of planking lay flat. Do I need to rip them up, sand, and replank? Is there a better way to apply the second layer, or is this just supposed to look better when it’s sanded down and varnished?
Speaking of smooth, do I need to worry about all that glue that oozed out of the pores here?
Mainly I want to learn how to make my next build look better.
