Transferred this multiflora to water after it ended up with dry rot, sadly purchased that way I think.
It is THRIVING.
Healthy roots now, new leaf growth, and a peduncle on each stem. It gets Cute Farms Organic liquid fertilizer when I remember and lives under a cheap grow light.
3 weeks after finding my mixed coleus pot COVERED in mealies and cutting the tops of each to try saving them, I've repotted. We will not be going back outside to tempt fate, but in front of a south facing window in my dining room instead.
Its neighboring coleus collected the dreaded mealy bugs, but somehow this beauty is free of them! She still got a good spray down of insecticidal soap to be safe. That night the blooms started opening❣️

I'm sure they were already there, but I went away for the weekend and came back to a very sad sight.
Trimmed off the tops, sprayed / soaked them with insecticidal soap, popped them in water to root, and tossed everything else. Somehow the beasties hadn't reached my gorgeous hoya next to them, but it got sprayed down too.
I'm in San Diego and we can't get the good systemic stuff due to agriculture rules. I've used Capt'n Jacks Dead Bug Brew before but couldn't find it close to home so the soap it is. 🤞🏻 I can keep them off what remains of my collection and they will be replanted again.
Went to see my favorite plant dealers yesterday. 2 weeks ago I saw this lil' beauty, monstera standleyana, and told myself no. Well, this visit I had a full loyalty card for $10 and they were running a raffle entry to Plant Bingo for every $20 spent. With this plant and the thrifted treasures I found I got 2 entries. I've had a cutting of this plant, but this is my first full / potted one.

Gave it a good hose shower this morning to get the dust/dirt off as it lives outside and while putting it back noticed a clump of something on a vine. Closer inspection: a peduncle. Coil the vine so it's up where I can actually see it, take a photo and realize there's a 2nd smaller one on the same vine 😃 it just dropped its first ever flowers and now I'm going to have more!

Such a game changer. Much more precise and if the brush dries out while you're bug hunting you only give it a little squeeze and it's ready again. I frequently lose the bug when I have to get the swab wet again because it evaporated off.

I should undo all of the twists and trellising so I can really treat it, shouldn't I? In San Diego so I currently don't have access to a systemic, working on that though. Have hit it with rubbing alcohol soaked swabs and dead bugs brew. Will shower it tomorrow and spray it again.

Even though it's been hot here, inland San Diego, these are doing well and really caught my eye this morning as I took my dog out. They sit on the north side of my apartment building with no direct light (they were getting burned) but lots of indirect sunlight.
They make me smile so I thought I'd share
Was given a coleus cutting and popped it in with my maranta. They've been coexisting for over a month now. Roots totally grew together.
Thankfully they pulled apart easily under gently running water with very little tension. No broken roots and are now each in their own container.
Amputation on 4/25, came home with me on 5/2, made him officially mine one 5/15, first birthday (estimated 'cause he's a rescued stray) on 5/19.
He had the BEST time at the beach this morning. This pup has no clue that he's different or missing a leg. Racing around with new friends, matching their pace or passing them! At first I wasn't sure about letting him off leash to play, but he did so good. I knew he would play well, thanks to going to daycare weekly, but he listened well too.
I was watering my ripple leaf and decided to turn it a bit and found this baby hiding under another plant, at the end of a runner. I've had it just about a year now and this is its first flowering. I really hope it succeeds in fully blooming and doesn't drop them instead.
I've had her for a few months and these 2 stems are gorgeous. Yeah, I know the white one is likely sucking energy from the main plant since there is no green, but this mama is letting it live its best life for now. Waiting for the pink to hopefully go green.....
I've had it for just over a year, never opened it. Now it's sprouting these yellow mushrooms and I'm not sure what to do.
It lives in my bathroom with a grow light nearby but partially blocked by other plants.
After finding mealies on my girl "Lisa" I treated and decided to repot as she's a year old and I didn't really like the soil anyway. I'd expected a larger root system, but they do at least seem healthy. Decided instead of a tall stick for support, her tendril is as long as my arm, I'd start her on a circular trellis which is a bit easier to manage, I hope.

2 weeks ago I got a new coleus that was too wide for where I was planting it. Trimmed off a few side branches and popped them in water.
Such a satisfying view: clear water, fresh new roots, and healthy leaves. Can't wait to pot 2 of these to give to a friend!
Made me laugh. He sees and walks on rocks daily but when one showed up in the bedroom it became an unknown. Wish I could post the video 🤣
Already attacked it with isopropyl alcohol q-tips and sprayed with Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew. They don't sell systemics here due to agriculture. She's one of my favorites, love those Sun stressed pink leaves!
Are the tiny ones also mealies or am I dealing with 2 different pests? Also saw some at the soil level. I've had her almost a year and haven't repotted. Should I do that now to make sure I get all the blasted things or wait a bit???
