Hi, I'm wondering what it was like for people who came to the US from Europe 150-250 years ago and saw a tornado for the first time 🌪️ . Do you know of any such stories from textbooks or family stories? Were they aware that it was just a weather phenomenon and not God's finger?

Since two weeks every morning before my work, I create a schedule that helps me stay more disciplined. The schedule includes various activities, including housework, a change of scenery, call to family and meals. Perhaps this will allow me to work 6 hours instead of 8, but 6 hours is better than wasting the entire day.

Of course, I work while listening to a podcasts. I treat podcasts as a reward for the work I've done so far.

I keep my phone in the next room; the only notifications allowed are the ringtones.

Because the Community doesn't allow any attachments, I'll present my today's schedule (June 26, 2026)

7:00 AM start

7:45 AM coffee brake + 5 min Reddit

8:00 AM radio news

8:40 AM 10 min Reddit

9:00 AM hour-long podcast about Singapore

10:00 AM change of workplace

10:30 AM fruit and unload laundry + load another

11:30 AM return to original workplace

12:00 PM lunch

12:20 PM return to work

12:45 PM 52-minute podcast about Chernobyl

1:20 PM unload second laundry

2:00 PM another coffee break + 15min Reddit

2:40 PM check office email

3:00 PM end of work

Seria dokumentalna Ostatni ludzie Czarnobyla została wyreżyserowana przez Amadeusza Kocana i wyprodukowana we współpracy z grupą Napromieniowani.pl oraz Krystianem Machnikiem.

Seria śledzi losy samoselów (osób przesiedlonych)—starych mieszkańców, którzy odmówili opuszczenia swoich domów i wrócili do nich w strefie wykluczenia radioaktywnego Czarnobyla krótko po katastrofie w 1986 roku. Filmy były kręcone podczas ekspedycji charytatywnych organizowanych w celu dostarczenia najpotrzebniejszych zapasów do tych ostatnich mieszkańców.
