Had smoke coming out of a power point yesterday, I turned the power off, informed the agent & landlord, 2 hours later smoke was still coming out, sparky was another 5 hours away. So on advice of a CFA worker, I called triple 0

So went outside yesterday morning, to turn the outdoor tv on and and breakfast, I noticed no power. So I checked the power boards and the point. Noticed smoke, so went into action, turned the power off to the house, called the agent & landlord, sent photos and video to both.

Both were great. Landlord spoke with agent and a sparky was booked.

About 2 hours later I noticed there was still smoke even though the power was still off.

I spoke with my wife who just happened to be with a CFA worker. His advice was call triple 0 just to be on the safe side.

They came, opened the roof and found no heat, but backed up me calling.

I informed both the agent and the landlord, the landlord was great, said I did the right thing.

The agent sent these messages..

Update: Spoke with the landlord(s). They've said they've noticed a few things over the past 18 months that are worrying and are looking at options. They both confirmed I did the right thing and are planing on getting the leak which caused this fix as well as replacing and moving the power point.

Had a restaurant staff member try to take my phone to confirm the order.it got big on them.

Ok, so this happened Friday, last job of the Friday night quest, I had made $350 for the day doing longer jobs then 8 for $50 a few hours. Hadn't had a day like it for months.

I ended up in Sunbury (I'm in Melton).

So get a pick up from a food truck in Sunbury, great, the 8th job, then it's home time.

I get to the truck, it's not ready. So called my wife and chatted for about 10 minutes.

The order was ready so put my wife on speaker while I confirmed the order.

The person who handed me the order said she needed to see my phone. So showed it was confirmed, she said "no hand it to me".

I said as you can see, it's been confirmed, now can I have the bag.

She refused to give it to me until I handed her my phone.

So I told my wife I'll call her back, told the worker I'll contact uber.

3 minutes later I was told to select "I feel unsafe". I questioned about the quest and about 5 minutes later was told my quest will be adjusted.

I got $45.

All.this while waiting in front of the truck getting abused.

I drove home thinking about it and you wouldn't believe it.

So my wife and I have a photo booth business, we both have a call recorder on our phones.

What happens is when we make a call, it starts recording straight away.

At the end of the call it emails me.

Yep I had the whole thing recorded and being on speaker makes it even better.

I called uber on Saturday morning and told them about the recording.

I emailed it to them.

I've had 3 calls from Uber this morning, all Australians, all wanting more details.

One person said that they've had a report from this food truck before demanding the phone.

I spoke to the union this afternoon and they said they want to recommend we get a body camera.

Keep Houston, Trade IQ, Move Josh

Here's my reasoning

Firstly we need to get the ball into Houston's hands more

He's also a better defender who is being forced to play a weird role.

He's a better kick than Josh.

IQ just costs us far too often.

He gives his opponent far too much room and space, which means he gets beaten to the ball or can't get to the marking contest.

Josh should never play half back again.

His best season, 2023 the coaches thought he was our best player. He was a wingman.

He's not a great kick leaving defensive 50, but a brilliant kick going inside 50.

For those who have played both roles, they know it's a different kick.

He's not that good a one on one defender.

Perryman coming back frees up Houston as well.

I think the other thing is we will get more in return for IQ. Maybe a role player and a 2nd round pick.

Can you get a can of drink? Sure, give me the service fee.

Last few weeks I've had so many stores ask if I can get the drinks.

Tonight I'm asking for part of the service fee.

Ubereats in Geelong? A couple of questions

I need to be in Geelong around midday tomorrow and was gonna do some UE driving down there.

Was wondering if it's available there and is the current quest active down there as it says all jobs must start in Melbourne

Doordash - shop wouldn't give me the order because I didn't have a red doordash bag, so reported them.

So went in to pick up an order, had my bag, a large one, said the name for the order and the woman said "it's our policy that we only give orders if you have the red doordash bag"

I questioned this and showed her the bag I had and she wanted the cheap, small doordash bag.

I again questioned it and it's ok, I'll call doordash.

I was told no, my bag would be better and they will take the report, cancel the order and I can go.

Funny thing was they cancelled the full order, inc on the stores side.

Did doordash this morning, 1 customer called me 15 times

So Doordash had for me $5 extra for every job, so I logged on for a few hours. It's my backup so rarely do it, far too much fucking around.

Started in Essendon, most jobs were easy click and collects and then a couple of longer food ones.

On drop off for one a ping came through, $45 docklands to Fitzroy.

I jumped on it as I was in Flemington at the time.

As soon as I got the job she started calling "please don't be long, I don't want to wait".

Traffic was it's usual self in Melbourne and parking was he'll, but picked up, another call "why are you taking so long, I don't want to wait".

After the 10th call, I said "look, you're the person who ordered a bunch of donuts from the bloody docklands, with no parking near by, I will get there when I get there depending on traffic"

She called another 5 times, each time I let my phone screen the calls.

On drop off I got her pin and said "never again", and left.

She then gave me a 5 star rating

Give me uber anyday

Not a bad start to the week

The reason why it was 25 minutes and not 15 was because the store was slow as usual.

This followed up with 3 jobs around $19 for no more than 10km.

I was home by 1 after starting at 6ish and cleared $170.

u/Piesman23 — 2 months ago

Must be a quest night, currently going at 1 job every 40 minutes

Ive got a 6 for $20 and I'm 10 away from the weekly quest.

Back online at 4.30 tonight.

Currently sitting on 4 jobs and it's been 35 minutes since the last drop off.

I've been driving, I've been sitting outside hot spots, not a single job since the last one.

A reminder you do not have to show your ID or number plate when picking up from anyone.

Just had a pick up from Office Works.

They wanted my ID to record it, I refused and told them we don't have to, show them the app that I was there for that order.

In store I called Uber who confirmed you do not give your ID over.

Uber cancelled and I got paid, so if it happens call Uber.

Complain about support all you want, as a diamond driver they're great.

Had a shit one today, cafe put a coffee and food straight onto a cardboard sheet at the bottom of the bag, I put them in my large bag with the other order I picked up.

Get to the drop off, the coffee has tipped over and is all throughout my bag.

Both orders affected.

I knock on the first drop offs door even though it said "leave at door" and explained what happened, showed her the bag, and said I'll call Uber now.

The second order is pretty much stuffed as well.

I call Uber, who asked for a photo then any damage to the bag and car.

They refunded both orders, told me to go to the nearest car detailer and get it cleaned and they'll refund me the payment they just need the invoice.

Within an hour and a half I was back working

Hey shit restaurant, you gave me a thumbs down, the customer gave me a $15 tip

So quest night, so I took whatever came up, one was for a pizza shop (the worst in the area) for a 3 delivery job.

I get there, "5 minutes".

Sure, knowing that they won't be 5 minutes, so I put the timer on.

At 5 minutes I asked how much longer, "another couple of minutes", so 2, sure, it was 15 minutes.

Im then given 5 boxes, and leave, the first drop off I and the customer have worked out that the order is order.

I'm thinking what the fuck.

I go back to the store, they're blaming me, even though each box is marked with different names.

I grab the other orders and leave.

They called and again blames me saying they have CCTV.

I've told them that I informed each customer what happened, firstly that I waited for 15 minutes, you had take orders from walk ins after I got there and they got their orders and then tried to blame me.

They said they'll give me a thumbs down. I told them that I'll go from 99 to 98, so do it.

I dropped the last 2 orders off, both customers said they oy ordered from there because of their deal and won't again.

Then I get a $15 tip from one.

The restaurant is on the list.

As someone who takes their kids most weeks, the kids go free rounds are fucking hell - hear me out

Ok, so my 6 year has been to all but 3 MCG Collingwood games since his first, the Jamie goal after the siren against Essendon.

He's been to 2 grand finals (22 & 23), he will line up with me outside the MCC gates for up to 6 hours before the gates open so we can get "our seats".

Our 4 year old would have been to roughly 2 thirds of the games he's seen.

So as you can see, they go quite often.

The 1 game a year both hate is the kids go free game.

Now before anyone jumps on and attacks me over this there are reasons and yes, I want as many kids to come to games as possible, as a kid I didn't miss a Collingwood game for about 16 years, including interstate games.

The problem with the kids go free games is simple, parents use it as an excuse to have a few drinks and let their kids do whatever they want.

It's fucking hell.

Last night we had kids standing on the fence in the aisles all night, you tell them to go back to their seats, the parents get shitty. The thing is you can't see half the ground if someone is standing in front of you.

You then have kids thinking they can kick the footy in and around seats during the game.

Add in the crying because the kid doesn't want to be there, the up and down in the seats because little Tommy has the bladder of a goldfish and mum and dad thinking "they're someone else's problem tonight".

Our 6 year old broke down when we got back to the car, he was pushed and hit by kids and parents who thought they can take over our seats at one stage.

I know others from other clubs who say the same and I'm all for kids coming most or every week, but it's these 2 rounds that are fucking hell.

Uber eats after the EOFY?

Someone mentioned to me the other day that after the EOFY you find that a lot of drivers leave because they've worked out they have to pay a lot of tax.

The person said that you find drivers start signing up around a few months into the new FY.

How true is this?

My tax will be right because I've been putting aside money each time I cash out, so I'll be better off.

Anyone driving around Melton, be aware, Ferris rd is closed for 3 weeks, traffic is hell

Heads up.

The traffic is hell around Melton due to Ferris rd being closed for 3 weeks.

It can take you half an hour from Melton south McDonald's to the train station in the mornings and afternoons.

So don't take any cheap trips.

Just fucking stop doing this use the fucking table

Nothing shits me more than idiots.

We've got a table out the front, yet every idiot driver we get for some reason pits our food on the ground.

Now before any of you say "oh, but it's the app".

It's not because I do Uber and door dash as well, if it's leave at door and there's a table, use the fucking thing.

Customer gave me a thumbs down (my first) because I wouldn't add a item not on their shopping list to the pick

So, I got my first thumbs down and I'm thinking of sending a crease and desist letter to remove it. It's also been reported to Uber.

So doing a fairly easy shop, picked everything and headed to the check out.

I get the above message, I told her I got everything on the app, I can't get anything else.

I checked out and she calls, abuses me and told me that she's at church, so she should get a little extra for free.

I dropped off, got another call, I've reported you to Uber for stealing.

I said sorry, but I'll get a photo at your door and there are consequences for forgery and lying.

I called Uber and reported the first bit, I said I'll call back if she's pissed off when I'm there.

I dropped off, audio recording on my phone "do you agree everything is there". Yes

It's around the corner from my home so I log off.

Checked the app about 20 minutes later, my rating went from 100 to 99.

The bitch gave me a thumbs down.

I called Uber, they are removing it once I send my proof.

Well done Google, you completely fucked Gemini

I've been a Gemini user now for more than a year and I've loved it, I've defended it and I've used it almost everyday.

The big thing I've used it for is my horse racing form.

Since the upgrade it's pretty much unusable for what I want it to do.

I've had a gem that has worked brilliantly for months, I upload my ratings and a form guide, it builds a detailed report in canvas and a betting guide.

Haven't had an issue for months.

Well.since the update I find myself getting more and more pissed off.

It will start to build in canvas, then stop, it will guess, it will fial to understand the prompt, it will then time out.

I check the usage limits and it grows.

I have to do around 16 meetings, I'm lucky to do 3.

The old Gemini never had any issues.

I'm getting close to cutting it all together

One change to the app I'll love

All jobs should have average wait times at restaurants.

If a restaurant has long wait times, no one will pick up from them, meaning no one will buy from them and they'll have to change
