Best/Popular Armor sets now?

Hey all, I haven't seriously pvp'd in over 2 years (pc was dying and couldn't play lol) and now that I'm back I'm washed as hell and it looks like I payed for my unbroken seal lmao. I'm slowly trying to get back into it and now with armor sets having set bonuses I'm at a loss of knowing what to grind for lol. What stats are good now? Last time I played grenade was still called discipline and resilience was a thing too. I play all three classes so recommendations for all three are welcome. And whatever exotics are popular because I'm at a loss of what to do lol.

Best methods for cleaning strings?

I have some new la bellas (deep talkin gold alloy flats and the ian martin allison super polished steels). And I noticed they get a lot of dirt on my fingers when I play. I've heard about boiling strings but I want to know what the best methods are for a good deep clean. I just worry about the gold alloy strings since the material is very different and I'm not sure how they would react to certain things.

I guess I'd also like to ask how yall clean your fingerboards, I might as well refresh them while the strings are off.

Quick question about pedals

Hey all,

I've been curious about pedals recently, for the past year and a half I've just been plugging the bass directly into my rumble 40 and can usually get a really good tone out of it. Though I've been considering getting the Behringer BDI21 V-Tone Bass Driver DI Pedal since it's budget friendly and I was curious if anyone can vouch for it or if there are any other budget options that are potentially better. I feel like a preamp pedal would be the best investment for me since I don't care too much heavy distortion or other things (bass is also my 4th instrument so I'm a bit stingy with buying stuff for it lol).

Can't get audio to work for Pepsiman on Duckstation (android)

Hey all, I'm currently trying to figure out how to get the music to work in the stages because for whatever reason there's no music but the sound effects work. Maybe I just got a bad rip or something, or maybe all the tracks aren't organized properly. Ps1 emulation is new to me so I apologize if this has a simple solution lol.

Resources for purchasing a duduk in the states?

Hey all, arizona resident here. I've been considering buying a duduk for some time now and I figured it wouldn't take too long to learn since I'm a bassoonist and play 3 other instruments. I'm sure there are a bunch of cheap copies online which is why I wanted to ask here.

I know there are different types of duduks (different keys/sizes), I'd probably say I have a oreference for a larger/lower size.

My biggest concern is reeds, I make my own reeds for bassoon so I don't have to worry about relying on other's craftywork so I'd need to know some good makers. I'm also curious as for how long the average duduk reed lasts.

And if there are any free online resources for embochure/fingering charts please let me know.

Pre amp pedals (that don't break the bank)

Was curious about any budget friendly pre amp pedals out there (lets say around $100 or less if they exist). Mostly want one for more tonal options since both of my basses are passive and I've heard that you can get closer to an active sound with one. I haven't done too much research into them so forgive me if I'm looking for the wrong thing.

Bonus points if it has a headphone jack (my amp has one but it'd be easier to bring the pedal and a chord to the living room than lugging the whole amp lol).

Best Legendary arc heavies?

Hey all, I'm returning after 2 years (gif of the billion buzz lightyears in the store), and I was curious about what arc heavies to look out for since I have like 0 in my vault and am not too sure of what's good.

Ravel piano concerto excerpt (fast) question.

Hey all,

For the life of me I can't get used to using the short Eb fingering (1 and 3 on the left hand), and I was wondering if there's anyone out there who uses the full fingering at tempo? Right now I'm around 80 ish beats a minute and I'm making decent progress but I just can't seem to rewire myself for the Eb's lol. I know it'd make things easier if I did the short fingering but it's just so wack to me.

Glaives in both PVP and PVE

Hey all, I haven't played in 2 years and I've been curious as to what glaives are best in both pvp and pve. My enigma has over 1500 kills in crucible lol, and my lubrae's ruin has close to 400. Though with the way pvp is now idk if I can keep that going unless there are some crazy builds to make the melee attacks viable (or oneshot projectile kill shenanigans).

High F#-G# trill? (And any recommendations for a trill fingering chart that doesn't hurt the eyes)

Hey all,

I'm working on arranging some pieces for bassoon quartet/quintet however it occurred to me while I was working on one that I have never had to do a high F#-G# trill lol. It'll be trilled for a decent amount of time too so I was hoping there was a good fingering to make it easier.

Rickenbacker clones?

Something I've been curious about lately is if there are still brands that make rickenbacker clones. I know in Japan there are a ton of companies that still make les paul and SG clones using the original shapes with way more affordability while still maintaining good build quality. I know rickenbacker is more aggressive about their patents so it'd be interesting to know if there are still brands out there building them.

Relic basses?

Something I've been curious about lately is how relic basses end up like that. Not the ones that people relic on purpose by slamming it against walls and sanding it with the tongue of an ancient beast. I'm talking about the ones that are worn down through the ages. I think relics look cool as hell, but I'm not about to start banging up my current basses just for the aesthetic lol.

Where do yall get chord charts/sheet music for jazz standards?

Hey all,

Looking to further familiarize myself with the fretboard by getting away from tabs and using sheet music and chords only. Wanted to start with autumn leaves then move on to some other ones but I don't really know where to look for that kind of stuff.

Playing splatoon 3 online(pc)?

Hey all,

The game is running really well so no issues there, the only wall I ran into is being able to play multiplayer since the only dedicated splatoon 3 server is password locked and I'm not sure where else I can look to be able to play since most things other than the single player campaign are locked behind being online.

Masayoshi Takanaka's album "The White Goblin" has some of the most tasteful basslines I have ever heard in my life.

Everything just fits in the mix so well and the tones are outstanding and full. Interestingly enough, there were two different bass players (Ken Yoshida on tracks 1 and 11 and Ray Ohara on tracks 2, 3, 5, and 6) on the album and both were outstanding at keeping the vibe going. This concept album quickly became one of my favorites. I just wish more vinyls of it existed lol.

The White Goblin on Vinyl?

Hey all, I recently got into Takanaka and the White Goblin quickly become one of my favorite albums of all time. The bass playing is super tasteful and fits into the mixes so I'll definitely be learning some of those on my own later lol. However I tried looking up a vinyl (I don't actually own any vinyls but this album would definitely be the first one I buy) and the only one that showed up was on eBay for $300 lmao. Were there just very little prints of it? Or was it not popular enough to get lots of vinyls? If it was like $50-$60 I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Where do yall find scholarships for school of music undergrads?

Every single random scholarship I find online is exclusively for high schoolers. It's like they don't care about the people already in college lmao. I just want to afford housing so I can save for a professional instrument. My university's scholarship portal just shows me a billion scholarships from law firms or other random places. My mom keeps telling me to just look harder, but musicians are poor and can't give anything away lol.

Fretwrap recommendations?

I'm sure like 90% of the ones out there work, but I am curious about which ones people prefer, also hypothetically would you be able to hang a keychain off of one without consequence? I assure you I'm not looking for one for aesthetic purposes, I just want to eliminate string noise lol.

Can't config controller

Hey all, I was able to connect this controller to my phone (samsung galaxy s25) and it worked really well with dolphin emulator (gamecube). However when I try to connect it to delta it does't seem to recognize it even though it is connected to the ipad through bluetooth. Not quite sure what I can do to troubleshoot this.
