How to start as a single queer woman with pets

Edit**** I’m not interested in hateful comments or weird advice and judgment. I have laid out questions 1-7 if you have answers if you don’t that’s fine, just don’t comment, pretty simple

I am a queer woman in my early 30s with a dog and a cat. I know nothing about RV life other than what I see on social media 😅

I live in Chicago and am having a lot of trouble finding work (I work in education and youth programming) and recently lost my housing. I’m so sick of being broke and tired. I am sick of the city. I am interested in:

  1. what to people who live in the RVs do for work year round?
  2. If remote work, what fields? What’s the pay like? Are you hiring? If in person, what do u do with ur pets while ur at work?
  3. How does living in an Rv with pets work? What do you do when you can’t bring them along somewhere? What if ur traveling, where do you take them to the vet?
  4. I see lots of used RVs for sale on fbmarket. If I save for a few months I could probably buy one between 1-4k.

Are those scams since it’s so low? How do you tell if the vehicle is actually up to the standard they say it is?
5.

  1. Is it safe to buy off fb market?

  2. I have no mechanical or technical skills.

I am a very fast learner though and have worked construction before. Good with my hands.

7.

  1. Where can I learn to prep for RV life? I can’t afford to pay a lot for a class. I have negative dollars right now and am crashing on people’s couches right now and not always in the safest conditions for my pets.

I am at rock bottom, so please be kind, if you’re annoying by my questions or presence here, you don’t need to respond. Not looking for judgement. I am frantic.

How to get sub license out of state?

Hello. I’m getting desperate not finding work. I’m wondering if anyone has experience getting state subbing licenses out of state? I’m looking at WI and MI, currently in Chicago. I’m an experienced educator k-12 and have a teaching license with stipulations as well as my substitute license and have applied to well over 100 teaching and subbing roles. Nothing and I’m running out of time and money. Wondering how to obtain my licenses out of state? I want to move to a small and affordable town soon. Thank you

Looking for work

32 queer femme. I’ve been underemployed for the last 2 years only getting PT and contract jobs. Used all my savings to get by and buy me time while I looked for Ft work. Now I don’t have a dime left. I am autistic and have arthritis so looking for work that can hold those things. In Chicago but I’m ready to move anywhere as long as I can afford it and will allow for my dog and cat. I have 8 years teaching experience (not state licensed with a PEL but i do have a ELS.) my passion is working with youth and Restorative Justice. I would love to become a licensed teacher but I have no money for school. A remote teacher would be even better as I continue to become more disabled. I’ve also been a receptionist, been a Public Health Coordinator. I cannot do restaurants anymore.

If anyone knows of other opportunities to get unstuck lmk.

Are these signs of mold and can I leave?

I just moved into my new place which I loved during the viewing but is quickly turning into a nightmare. I have lives with this management company before and while they are no prize, it was never this bad. The apartment is always damp even with my little window ac unit, the mattress, the couches, the pillows, the walls, the floor. The dehumidifier has helped with the dampness but that’s a big extra expense we didn’t budget for and I don’t think that gets rid of mold. I haven’t done a test kit yet, but I will because even with the dehumidifier I wake up with fluid in my lungs coughing, runny nose, sneezing, it gets better when I leave the Apt. I live above an unfinished laundry room that floods and has leaks my floors are extremely warped as well as the walls. I’m poor, disabled/immunocompromised with asthma. Is this enough for me to be able to leave and what are the recommended steps to do that?

Reserved but called too much when you finally open up?

People that don’t know me well often describe me as sweet, quiet, and reserved. People who know me well also confirm this is what they first thought of me as well. These are descriptions that make me sad bc I long for connection but often don’t feel safe doing it (emotional neglect at home, often didn’t have friends growing up, bullied heavily.) In all my relationships my partners (wlw) have also said that I “am a lot” which makes me feel like too much sometimes. I understand but it feels devastating to hear bc I am almost always alone and in my head and get excited or relaxed enough to share who I am and how I actually feel instead of holding it in all the time and performing for everyone. I know this must be a common experience. How do y’all deal? (I feel like most of my friendships are with intense people who are always going through a lot, and I love them, but don’t often feel comfortable sharing my inner world, or like there is often space for that, in case the suggestion is “just talk to your friends!” “Or make new ones!” In chronically ill and live alone so i often lack energy to socialize, or mobility to meet people after working, taking care of chores, barely making rent.)

I’m just struggling to survive so maybe I don’t even need to waste my time worrying about being too much but I also want/need support that feels hard to find with my difficult personality

My partner is kind, tolerant, patient, but is not interested in my inner world it feels

Queer woman early 30s here. I have just been learning about CPTSD through several books and podcasts and believe I may have that or I am emotionally immature due to neglect. I never had an adult to comfort me, talk to, or see me. When i had interests I was redirected to the path my parents wanted me on. My whole life, around friends and family still, I feel like a prop or a piece of furniture, there to observe their existence or something idk, not have needs or feelings of my own. My parents never had conflict, just saw the ways my dad would treat my mother poorly, not necessarily physical abuse but just really mean spirited, easily irritated and explode at all of us. My mom never was someone who believed in rupturing the image of a good family, so she tried to make light of it and just deal. I guess i do those things too now.

Anyway I never learned to be emotionally vulnerable, even with friends and I rarely have more than 1 friend at a time and often have no friends. The person I am dating rn is the best relationship I have ever had. I cannot stress how emotionally intelligent they are, gracious, and patient with me. BUT they do let me know that I am a lot for them and that they think I am very negative. This hurts bc there are so few people I feel safe with saying anything more than “I’m fine.” It feels like a confirmation of all the things I was told growing up that I’m a downer, negative, no one will want to be around you, smile more, etc.

I want to respect their emotional boundary and not take up all their energy, (we are both neurodivergent auDHD) but I feel so much pressure to hide everything that I’m going through that they find draining or are bored of. We are supposed to have a fun weekend and go to a part this Saturday but I feel so sad. I’m much more happy and available to experience joy when I feel heard and get attention lol feels dramatic of me. They have been wanting more space from me in our relationship but if feels really hard to put on a happy face and be fun when I only see them to do fun social things and they are no longer very available for me to share my thoughts with. They’ve even stopped asking me how my day is bc I always have stress and work in a high stress temp job. Any advice?

I don’t want to breakup but maybe I should?

I am in my 30s, queer, autistic, and have never broken up with someone. I have been desperate for love all my life, growing up in an environment where I felt deeply unloved and being loved and desired felt like an unattainable fantasy. I have always struggled to find places to fit in, being bullied well into college, did not go on my first date until my early 20s. Hard to make and keep friends. Have also always struggled to make human connections even tho building community and interdependence are important values of mine. However I am chronically ill often sick or in physical pain, and have deep rooted mental health issues that make maintaining relationships hard.

Anyway, my partner and I are nonmonogomous and are currently just seeing each other (though we have each had other romantic relationships that just didn’t work out, and that’s not the issue, just giving context.) This person is the best person I have ever met. Generous, kind, patient. I am moody and often emotionally triggered into a state of shutting down (not always by them but just the world, I think I have CPTSD) and they are so so patient and kind towards me, loving and usually good at giving me the comfort and patience I need to get out of a funk. But I realize this gets old and is taxing and takes energy. I know they are also spread thin due to work, organizing, and their strong commitment to their friends, family, and exploring hobbies. They are very social and good at making friends and being around people. I am not. I want to be, but it is a skill I never developed and while I think it’s possible to grow in this area, I don’t think it’s likely when I’m in survival mode. I’m struggling to find and keep jobs, trying not to become houseless, and my chronic suicidality is flaring up along with my major depressive disorder, bc of the immense pressure and high stakes.

My partner grew up with lots of trauma and was responsible for caring for their siblings and parents, they do not want to be a caretaker and that it totally understandable. They are finally at a place in life where they have stability and want to travel and grow and explore different kinds of relationships. I want that for them but they have expressed they feel immense pressure to spend time with me. I feel like a burden and that I am holding them back. I am also disabled and just do need lots of support and bc I’m not good at developing friendships, I know this puts a lot of pressure on them. I also feel like a lot of my time and energy is put into trying to make sure I am also showing up for them so it prevents me from deepening my friendships, dating others, or caring for myself. My partner has no interest in living together one day and I would really like a nesting partner to share some of the burden/collaboration of rent and responsibilities. Basically I feel like I’m holding them back and feel their resentment building, they have been less available, and have expressed feeling annoyed or overwhelmed by me when I vent about what I’m going through. I want them to have to life and joy they deserve, I love them so much and it’s the best relationship I’ve ever had by far, I don’t want to let them go, but I’m in such a miserable place in life. I’ve had 4 relationships by now 3 serious and I recognize the signs now of when someone has had enough and what is enough for them, isn’t for me. What do I do?
