via Adam Harding - "I was first introduced to the music of ‘80s UK all-girl band Fuzzbox about 25 years ago by Lou Barlow. On our cover of Love is the Slug, Lou plays baritone guitar and bass guitar and also sings the middle section. Dale Crover plays drums.

I’ve recorded many songs with these two legends over the years but never before now had them both play together on the same song. I don’t know why it took so long, but better late than never.

John R. Miller’s new alt-country LP ‘The Great Unknowing’ (recorded at Leon Russell’s legendary Church Studio in Tulsa) became available digitally last week. Tonight the acclaimed Appalachian musician returned to the Grand Ole Opry and introduced a “monumentally influential practitioner of the guitar” as his surprise guest. J Mascis then joined Miller onstage to perform the album’s “Steering Wheel Drums,” marking the Dinosaur Jr. frontman’s own Opry debut. Miller was recently named the recipient of the 2026 John Prine Songwriter Fellowship, which will include a week-long residency at Almanack Arts Colony on Nantucket. And Dinosaur Jr. are on the road too, with Band Of Horses this month and Stef Chura in the fall.
