Looking for a set and forget fund

Morning all,

We have lived in Australia permanently for a long time but my teenage daughter was born in England, and she has some savings back there. In Australia there's a well-known ETF called DHHF which would be a very popular "set and forget" long term growth option with a very broad base (there are also various competitor options available).

What would be some very broad-based long term growth options in a similar vein that are available in the UK please? We don't want to move that money over here but if we did, we'd just drop it into DHHF and leave it there to do its thing, so we'd love to know the UK equivalent. We don't know much about this stuff so we're looking for one single option, no fancy weightings.

Thanks for all advice and happy investing!

Mileage for travel to branch offices?

Morning all!

I just wanted to run a scenario past you to see if this would allow me to claim motor vehicle costs in my annual tax return.

I split my time between working at home, working at the office (main place of employment) and working at various other business locations (subsidiaries and site offices).  I understand that driving to the main office a couple of times per week is considered private use and cannot be claimed.

My question is whether I can claim mileage for driving:

  1. Home -> site office
  2. Home -> site office -> main office

 Thanks for all advice!

The Frasier IRL Experience... what's on your list?

Well last night I was inspired to listen to some Renata Tebaldi after watching Out With Dad.

What I really want to do is take a bath in the "proprietary blend". Has anyone done that, or what other Frasier-inspired activities have you enjoyed in real life?

Best way to read classic EC sci fi collections?

Evening all,

I'm getting into EC via the new Oni imprint and reeeeeally enjoying it, so I want to go back and read some classic EC, especially the sci fi stuff like Weird Science.

What are some good ways to make first steps into the archives with collected editions, please? Thanks for all help 🙏

What are you cooking up with the Outlaw Cogfort RORs?

As you'll no doubt have seen, the warscrolls for both varieties of Mercenary Cogfort are all over the internet, and pretty much every army can take them.

Points will be out soon too, so over the next few weeks, we'd love to see what you're cooking up for making best use of Cogforts in your own favourite armies.

Check out the article and let us know how you're planning on using them?

Storing 8" Dob: Pointing down, or up?

Evening all,

What's the preferred way to store a Dobsonian indoors?

Pointing down to the ground (noting that the lens cap won't stay in), or pointing up with a canvas and blanket over the top?

I don't seem to be able to add photos but hopefully the question is clear enough.

Are both OK, or is one a disaster? Thanks for all advice.

New EC Comics: Differences between the horror anthologies?

I'm *really* loving the new EC Comics imprint from Oni. I've only just started getting into them and I've picked up a few scattergun singles from Cruel Universe and Epitaphs from the Abyss so far.

Just wanted to understand, in terms of the range, is there much fundamental difference between Catacomb of Torment and Epitaphs from the Abyss? Would certain kinds of stories be published in one over the other, or are they very similar (and the publishers are just reacting to where they've found demand, by putting out more of what people are enjoying)?

Thanks all 😊

Morning all,

My only CC currently is NAB Rewards. They used to offer free travel insurance but they stopped that recently.

We're about to make a big one-off purchase of European flights for the family, so it might be a good time to look at a second card, ideally one that offers free travel insurance.

What would your suggestions be, please? TIA for all help.
