This character can just do nothing and not get hit. Bro low profiles naturally under every aerial. Doesn't matter if I have a disjoint if this fast MF can just move around and never get touched. Then he hits me with a super fast and safe attack and I eat high damage or die. Down tilt is a war crime.

Also no character should have that movement speed and be aloud to jump that high. I don't care if he's a frog.

If I was able to cut 10 characters Greninja would absolutely be one of them.

I'm not going to go into high details but basically I bottle up my negative emotions and only cry in my room or in my car when I'm alone. I'm very quiet about it, but I genuinely hate how a lot of my efforts to improve don't amount to anything. Like the improvements are there and it's obvious to me, but to everyone else it doesn't mean shit. I also don't have a good father figure and my siblings hold negative stereotypes towards men as a result, which pains me.

I just, feel like I'm never going to achieve what I've been working towards. It's definitely why I'm single and alone. Nobody wants to support a man who can't make it big, especially if he's black.

I'm starting to think I'm not attractive. I know I have great hygiene and I know people enjoy talking to me. I can make many people, man or woman, smile and such. I'm perfectly fine with being friends with women, but sometimes I find that woman who makes my heart skips a beat. Every time I shoot my shot, I ask advice beforehand from guys more successful than me. It gets me numbers and good conversations, but when I ask to grab a coffee or go grab lunch together, it always ends in two ways.

"No. I just want to be friends" or they outright ghost me then pretend they do not know me and immediately see them dating another guy the next day or so.

I've been ghosted far too many times, and when I show guys the texts just to make sure I wasn't too pushy, they are *always* confused as to how I didn't score. Like they are genuinely baffled. I even asked my mom about this, and she would also be confused.

I decided to just... not ask women out anymore. I know people say "It's a numbers game, just keep trying." I don't believe that anymore. I've played this game for years. I think I'm far from low value, but it does not matter. Confidence, good hygiene, and genuine humor can only take me so far. I don't have the looks. I have the body but not the face and it stings.

Tell me why I should even bother. I'm not here to argue, I promise. I honestly just need some encouragement. Some confident man, huh?

I'm black and American (22M), grown up with parents who are northern (they were born in the states too). I think I have strong English and it makes a *lot* of black people ask me why I sound "so white." It's actually insane how many people ask me this.

If it isn't "you act white" they say "you're totally gay." I honestly think this is why I'm single. My voice and speech patterns are not the "norm" so I get written off instantly. It doesn't matter if I have a good job, a good car, and a good body (at least, I think I'm hot AF). People are so put off by my voice alone and it's sad. When I used to work in fast food growing up people were always mistaking me for a woman at the drive through. Someone literally gasped when they saw I was a guy and asked "are you gay? There's no way you aren't."

Like... I dress like any other normal man. I wear no feminine clothes. I want to be masculine yet everyone believes I can't be that. I have to prove myself at work time and time again, had to switch jobs until I found one that really respects me (got promoted and a raise recently). People are always shocked I have good stuff going for me. It's like... am I that ugly to them? Is my voice that weak to them? I'm always the one buying items and merch for my friends at conventions, hell sometimes I buy everyone the tickets! I'd be the only black guy in the group but the richest one... and everyone else assumes I'm a broke bum.

Guys when I wore a leather jacket and other expensive clothes people told me I was "trying too hard to look kept together." Like... wow.

Genuinely I feel like... every swordie main and their momma needs a pocket Game & Watch or Palutena.

Forget Steve for a minute. There are too many Snakes and too many ROBs. Sword characters are so infamous for being trash in these match-ups. They run into one top tier flowchart character that isn't Game & Watch and then die.

Shadic, Mr. E, Neo... I can name too many really good swordie mains that get washed by any half decent Snake or ROB running the same habits and same gameplan over and over because it freaking destroys sword characters. I watched every single favorite swordie main of mine get obliterated by these characters SO often and WAY too much. But then I see random high level player number 79 use a counterpick and get an upset or at least make it far more competitive.

This game is not balanced enough to be a solo swordie at all. Even if you play Aegis or Cloud (why else is Sparg0 a multi main) you're not solo winning a major in the big 2026. Please pick up a secondary and stop losing to these mid level snakes dude. It's absolutely disappointing.

Like stop making things harder on yourselves and counterpick for goodness sakes. Y'all will complain about this same character over and over like brotha you don't HAVE to play the -2 every time. You have fundies I'm sure you can win with Game & Watch or Palutena. Like, find SOMEBODY for that one specific character that gives you a hard time. Some players act like it'll be too hard and won't even try but then they'll have a blast doing iron man challenges for the LOLs. Like you clearly have fun using multiple characters why not try it at least ONCE. It doesn't have to be a difficult one dude.

Idk seeing my GOATs get embarrassed by Snake player number 17, or ROB player number 86 AGAIN and AGAIN makes me mad. Y'all are so much fundamentally better yet you pick the hard options every time.

Any sword character that relies on spacing too heavily is either mid tier or very unplayable nowadays. Marth? Bottom 5. Corrin? Falling off so hard their top rep went from top 10 in the world to an honorable mention (even after practicing consistently after school). Byleth? Mid at best. Sephiroth? Trash. Ike? Trash. Lucina? Mid tier at best (why else did top reps drop her?).

Now look at the unconventional sword characters and... they are still bad!!! Robin? Low tier. Shulk? "Mr. Potential" (he's mid tier idc). Meta Knight? He has a needle not a sword and he's mid af. Link? Low tier. Young Link? Mid tier. Toon Link? Mid tier. Sora? Probably super good but nobody plays him cuz his moveset is lame AF.

Now look at the sword characters that don't play like sword characters and OH MAN THEY'RE GOOD?! Roy? High tier. Mythra? Sheik but with sword.

Look at the recent results. Tell me which sword character other than Roy and Aegis are hanging in there? You could say Cloud, but that's because of one supernatural rep who himself said Cloud isn't close to solo viable.

Yeah at low level everyone can win but play in a major tournament and tell me how viable Marth or Robin is LOL.

No solo swordie exists at the top level. You don't see one top swordie who doesn't have another secondary or more.

Now, the BEST thing about sword characters in this game is that because most of them are not that solid or meta relevant, they are very fun to watch at high level. A lot of swordie mains need to have ridiculous fundamentals to keep up and that's amazing to watch even if they lose to Steve... and Rob... and Sonic... and Snake... and Spamus (who is just a better swordie)

I'm quit smash.

I quit going to events just to run into Steve and Kazuya over and over again.

I quit spending hundreds on traveling to majors + locals just to get frustrated and feel like trash.

I quit interacting with a community full of kid touchers and people who don't know how to communicate.

I quit running events for an ungrateful community who took everything I did for granted and then mocked me when I was sad about it. I had several people say that the money I invested in starting a local and added to prize pots was "unnecessary." Like what is that supposed to mean?
