Going into gr12 this September, looking for any extra ecs I could do to maximise my chances of getting into UW math. I have a 96.3 average across the 3 4u courses I’ve completed already (eng4u and 2 electives).

Currently:
- Math club co-president
- Deca founder/vp
- Part time job

Any ideas on what other ecs I’d need? Thanks!!

Entering gr12 this year, looking to get into math/phys sci this admission cycle. Wondering about the outlook for actuaries graduating from UofT. A couple questions:

Overall, how is the act sci program here?
How difficult is it compared to say, Waterloo or Mac act sci?
How well do act sci graduates place into insurance/consulting firms?

Super anxious about this cycle. My predicted average for gr12 is around 96-97, minimum 95. My ecs are as follows:

Hi all, currently looking for a new bag for back to school. Looking at a Mantis 26L 2018 (version with Arc’teryx printed on front underneath bird) for about $130 CAD. Main use case will be for school of course, as well as packing some clothes for the gym. I am planning to use this bag for the next 5-6 years, I hope. What are your thoughts on this model for the price? How does it compare to a newer Mantis or a Borealis/Refugio, which can be found for similar prices?

Incoming gr12 here, my dream program is UW Math and I’m looking for any advice from ppl who have been admitted in the past. I’ve completed the following gr12 courses already:

Bbb4m - 100
Cia4u - 96

For ecs, I’m president of math club and a vp in deca, and I have a part time job.

My biggest worry is the AIF. I have no clue what to write about or if my ecs are good enough. Should I start writing it before school starts? Should I grind a project or two for the last month of summer? Any advice is appreciated!!

How many of you track what you eat/count calories?

In my experience, I have found that tracking calories allows me to 1. eat and buy less food and 2. put more value on each meal of the day. I found that before tracking meals, I would eat whatever the hell I wanted and would end up buying whatever looked good, just to hoard it in my fridge and eventually throw it out.

Do you guys find that tracking food helps with a minimalistic/simple lifestyle, or is it too much work?

I imagine that because of the state of the CS job market and ai and all of that, there are less people applying for CS. Do you guys think that this cycle (for 09s) we will see lower admission averages/less competitiveness? How about for historically competitive programs like UW CS and UTSG CS?

In the nutrition scores category, there is no longer a category to see the micronutrients related to men’s health, just all targets. Iirc, it was Fibre, Protein, Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Calcium, and Magnesium. No I do not have gold.

Also the new colours suck lol

I (17M) just finished my 3rd year of high school. I've been applying since October for my first job, sending out hundreds of apps with nothing. I'm so desperate for work that I'm willing to work for any business for $10-$15/hr under the table at this point. I don't even need minimum wage anymore man, just any sort of income. Yes I have tried freelance work (mowing lawns, cleaning, dogwalking etc.), but I have been unable to find anything in my area due to high competition from other highschoolers/small businesses. I have tried both in-person and online applications with no results. I don't have anybody who could refer me anywhere either. Yes I have tried Canada Summer Jobs. Yes I have tried applying to Wonderland CNE Tim's etc. Yes I tailor my resume to every application. Despite everything, I haven't been able to land anything. I got one callback and one interview, but got ghosted from both after that. I'm so done and so desperate for literally anything.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
