First Edifice!
Scored it on sale at JCP. Loving it so far.

Saw the purple dial and fell in love. Snagged it on clearance for 40% off at a jewelry store!
The PAC-MAN Special Edition took about a month to arrive, but it’s super nice in person, so I’d say it was worth it. The Illuminator was an inexpensive Walmart find!
I’d love to hear more about Phoibos/personal experience with their watches if anyone has any to share. So far, this thing has one of my favorite dials in my personal collection. I can’t wait to wear it more!
It’s worth noting just how HEAVY this thing is, though. Generally quite thick as well.
I’ll be attending this watch party/Q&A event this coming weekend! I’m definitely a fan of the movie but I’m not sure what to expect. Has anyone here ever gone to one of these events?
If anyone ever pays their local JCPenney’s a visit for their watch/Casio selection, keep your eyes out for this bad boy. Found it on sale for just a little over $100 when it was normally priced around $170-ish. This is one of my first G-shocks other than my CasiOak (which I also love).
Most of the G-Shocks they had were pretty standard, but this one was front and center in the case and its colors really popped. There’s something about purple dials/faces that I’ll always love, and the blue makes it even better.
Specifically curious about other good YouTube series and videos. I haven’t done much digging but I love the found footage elements of his own work and I’d kill for anything similar.
I’d love to find a full-size caveman cutout at some point!
Picked this guy up for a very reasonable price online (eBay) and instantly fell in love with the speckled patina on the dial + the exemplary condition of everything else. Strap is all new and the case looks clean all around. I'd love to hear some more info/opinions on Mido overall- I'm a newcomer and I'm dipping my toes into a few brands to see which ones I'm most passionate for.
I am curious though: does it look too small? It's 31mm. I do think I have very small wrists for a guy, and it seems small in person, but it looks much larger in these photos.
First time I’ve ever found a negative display Casio in-store (Walmart). Picked it up for around $22. Somehow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this model before, but I love the day and date displays and the general thickness of the resin bezel. Feels like it’s leaning toward the G-shock end of the durability spectrum.
I do wish the backlight was brighter. It’s reminiscent of the infamous dim candlelight of the F-91W, which really sucks for the negative display. Still love it though, thinking about making this my beater for a while.
May or may not have purchased after learning about its appearance in the show Severance as one of Mark’s watches (this isn’t the exact variant, but still).
I’d love to learn more about Russian watchmaking and I’d especially appreciate any suggestions for other affordable entry points. Love the strap on this particular watch as well as the (very subtle?) gradient on the dial.
Jake Gyllenhaal rocks this bad boy in Donnie Darko, one of my favorite movies ever, and I was lucky enough to finally find one at a very reasonable price with the original box, paperwork, and even the original strap. Watch itself is in decent condition too, better than it looked online.
This has to be the coolest feature/complication I’ve ever seen on a watch and I’d kill for a modern reissue/rework.
This may be the watch worn by Donnie Darko (favorite movie ever btw), but that’s not the only reason I fell in love with this bad boy. This seriously has to be the coolest complication/feature set I’ve ever seen on a watch. Super excited to put it on display.
This was a 2016 calendar before I marked out the year, but it turns out that October 2016 lines up perfectly with October 1988!
I’m definitely big into Casios (particularly retro/vintage/weird ones) as well as watches with fascinating histories and odd features/looks in general. The Zodiac is probably my fav so far, but I have a very very rare Casio on the way. Can’t wait to post here more often and get to know you guys :)
