Leather tool

Hi everyone, I saw this on a vintage tools app. I've been told it was used for stretching leather, especially belts, to stabilize them and prevent them from stretching further. Does anyone recognize it? I’d buy this tool simply because I think it looks beautiful, regardless of my interest in leathercraft.
What exactly does this tool do? Any ideas?
Thanks

General question about bifold wallets

I have a general question about bifold wallets.
I’m a newcomer to the world of leatherwork. In fact, I hadn't really paid attention to leather goods until I started considering making leather watch straps for the watches I've restored.
Now I’m thinking about making other items, including a bifold wallet. It caught my attention that "industrial" or mass-produced wallets are much thinner than the ones I see made around here. Is it due to the construction method? The leather they use? Machine stitching?
The last wallets I've owned have been from luxury brands like Louis Vuitton or Hermès.
And while I'm at it… what types or qualities of leather do they use that manage to be so thin and soft, yet so durable? Can those leathers be found or sourced by individuals?
Sorry for so many questions!

Not engraved bezels

Hi everyone,
I love vintage diver watches. Sometimes the bezels are engraved, which makes them relatively easy to restore by filling the recessed numbers with paint. However, in other cases—like the two watches I have—the bezels are completely flat and not engraved.
How can I restore this type of bezel? Since there are no grooves to hold the paint, I’m not sure how to approach it.
Any advice or techniques would be greatly appreciated!
Apologies for the bad lighting / phone quality photos

My vintage Fixoflex has no side access for the spring bars, only a central hole/slot on the end link

Sorry for showing you such dirty images, complete with the 'DNA' of several generations... The thing is, to properly clean it, I need to know how to release the spring bars. Could you give me a hand? Even though it's dirty, the Fixoflex strap is in perfect condition. I’m not sure if I’ll use it for this specific project, but I definitely don't want to scratch this beautiful 1950s Junghans

Movements with no cases

Why do second-hand and auction sites have so many vintage watch movements + dials for sale but no cases? Isn't it harder to sell them like that? Also... I literally never see empty watch cases for sale. What are people doing with the cases?? 💀
