PowerPoint Background Removal Tool

PowerPoint really screwed the pooch by eliminating the old Legacy Background Removal Tool and replaced it with a far inferior AI Background Removal tool.

Fortunately, there is a way to re-add the Legacy Background Removal Tool.

To add the legacy "Remove Background" tool, complete with the manual "Mark Areas to Keep" and "Mark Areas to Remove" drawing tools, add it directly to your Quick Access Toolbar via PowerPoint Options.

  1. Open PowerPoint and click File > Options.
  2. Select Quick Access Toolbar on the left menu.
  3. Change the Choose commands from dropdown to All Commands.
  4. Scroll down the list until you find Remove Background and select it.
  5. Click Add, then click OK.

The legacy command will now be permanently accessible as a shortcut at the very top of your PowerPoint window.

What Happened to Updates?

These are the last 12 updates for a 4 week period from March 27th to April 25th.

That's an average of 3 updates a week. We haven't had an update since April 25th. That is zero updates going on about 4 weeks.

What is going on?

Playback Bug

Lately, I have been experiencing a bothersome bug. When I play a video. It will stop after a couple of minutes hen playing. It will stay stopped for quite a long time (10+minutes). Then it will start again and play fine with no problems

Since installing v 4.70-beta01. I haven't been able to bring up my Nvidia Share menu on my Shield.

I tried using tvQA and it works ok, but it will not record sound nor will it allow you to record any video content. So, that make that tvQA feature a no go for me.

I then tried mapping a button on my Shield's "Customize Menu Button". However, you only have 3 button press options to choose. I decided to change my AI Upscaling button press to Open Nvidia Share Menu. This worked just fine, but I liked the option of using that button press for my AI Upscaling feature, too. Besides, there is something wrong that I cannot bring up my Nvidia Share menu the normal way.

So, anyway, I researched this issue a bit more and discovered if I go into the Projectivy Launcher Accessibility Service settings and disabled Enable Button Remapping. Then everything went back to normal and can now access Nvidia Share menu the normal way.

Just offering a couple of solutions for Shield users who might be or have experienced this problem.

I installed the most recent update v 0.6.9-beta. Now, when I open Nuvio and click on a movie in "Continue Watching". It will open my Stremio app instead of playing the selected movie.

I even tried force closing my Stremio app and tried again, but Nuvio keeps opening my Stremio app.

Weird and not acceptable.
