Honeymoon in Bali - Help in Itinerary

After a lot of help and suggestions from this sub, we've reworked our honeymoon itinerary and have finally narrowed it down to Seminyak → Gili T → Ubud.

We're looking for a mix of relaxation, adventure, beaches/nightlife and some romantic experiences.

I've attached our current itinerary here.

https://preview.redd.it/mjxnln27psih1.png?width=1582&format=png&auto=webp&s=bd06e80cdfab0eb7f6e65543b21bfc27130a1587

Would really appreciate your thoughts on:

  1. Does this overall itinerary / distribution make sense? Anything you would change, remove or add?
  2. Are the activities on each day realistic, especially the travel days between Seminyak → Gili and Gili → Ubud?
  3. Hotel recommendations: Please suggest your best 4-star properties in each of the three locations. We'd particularly love private pool villas where possible.
  4. Any "don't miss this" recommendation that isn't currently on our plan?

We're using a private driver on Bali, so transport isn't a major concern. We're also deliberately trying to keep some downtime rather than filling every hour with sightseeing.

Thanks a lot for all the help so far!

Terima kasih 🙏

Help me choose a 4-star hotel/villa in Ubud for honeymoon

My wife and I are visiting Bali for our honeymoon in September and we'll be staying in Ubud for 3 nights.

We're specifically looking for a good 4-star hotel/villa with a private pool, preferably something romantic and comfortable rather than a standard hotel room.

I've shortlisted these four:

  1. Dwaraka The Royal Villas
  2. The Payogan Villa Resort & Spa
  3. FuramaXclusive Resort & Villas Ubud
  4. Ubud Raya Villa & Resort

I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to choose because all four look good online, but I'm more interested in recent real-life experiences than the marketing photos.

A few things that matter to us:

  • Honeymoon / romantic atmosphere
  • Private pool is important
  • Clean, well-maintained rooms/villas
  • Good breakfast
  • We will have a driver arranged by the travel agent.

If there's another 4-star private-pool villa in Ubud that you think is better than all four, please recommend it too!

Thanks!

Vietjet Preponed flight by 24 hours

I was supposed to travel to Bali in September, and i was getting 2 options 1) Singapore airlines 2) Vietjet

While booking 2 days back Singapore airlines was showing costlier fare , therefore i booked Vietnam one.

Today suddenly i got a mail from from travel platform that Vietjet is preponing my flight by 24 hours , towards Bali. I had option to cancel tickets and get refund.

On checking , Singapore airlines fares had come down

I jumped to the opportunity and cancelled my Vietjet tickets , and booked Singapore one.

What I missed confirming was, if I’ll get full refund for “from” Bali ticket PNR , as only “to” Bali was rescheduled.

I have dropped a mail to Vietjet but not getting any response , while the travel portal is being vague in response, and asking to wait to get refund details.

Did i make a foolish mistake?

Honeymoon in Bali - 8D/7N

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are planning our honeymoon in Bali this September, and after comparing several travel agencies, we've shortlisted the following itinerary.

The land package costs ₹1.44 lakh (around US$1,650) for both of us, excluding flights. It includes private transfers, sightseeing, hotels, breakfast, and all mentioned activities.

Hotels

  • 3 Nights – La Vie Villa, Seminyak (Private Pool Villa)
  • 4 Nights – Kaamala Resort & Spa, Ubud

Day 1

  • Arrive in Bali
  • Private airport transfer
  • Check in at La Vie Villa
  • Free evening

Day 2

  • Tanjung Benoa water sports (Jet Ski, Banana Boat & Parasailing)
  • Uluwatu Temple
  • Kecak Fire Dance

Day 3

  • Full-day Nusa Penida tour
    • Kelingking Beach
    • Broken Beach
    • Angel's Billabong
    • Crystal Bay

Day 4

  • Tanah Lot Temple
  • Transfer to Ubud
  • Check in at Kaamala Resort & Spa

Day 5

  • White Water Rafting
  • Bali Swing
  • Coffee Plantation
  • Tegallalang Rice Terrace

Day 6

  • Mount Batur Sunrise Trek
  • Free evening

Day 7

  • ATV Ride
  • Leisure time

Day 8

  • Airport transfer

A few questions:

  1. Would you change anything in this itinerary?
  2. Is the itinerary very exhaustive? We both are want to do adventure but is it a overkill?
  3. Does this seem like good value for ₹1.44L (US$1,650) excluding flights, considering the hotels and activities included?

We're looking for a good balance of romantic honeymoon, relaxation, luxury, and adventure, rather than trying to squeeze in every possible attraction.

Would really appreciate any suggestions or things you'd change before we finalize the booking. Thanks!

Honeymoon in Bali

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are looking to visit Bali for our honeymoon this September. We'll be travelling from India and are planning for 6 days and 5 nights.

We wanted genuine advice from people who've actually been there so we can avoid travel agent traps, make the most of our trip, and experience Bali the way it's meant to be, and have the same love for Bali as you all have ❤️

Here are a few must-haves for us:

  • We don't want to stay in more than 2 cities/areas, so we can make the most of them. We don't mind coming back to Bali in the future to explore the rest.
  • We want a good mix of adventure, luxury, and relaxation.
  • My wife has a photoshoot at the famous Bali Swing on her bucket list. I won't be able to say no to her. 😄
  • We both love water, so white-water rafting and snorkelling are high on list.
  • I personally would love to do an ATV ride through the jungle. I am not sure how much strength it might take.
  • I'd also love to watch a sunrise or sunset with a volcano, if that's worth doing.
  • We don't mind spending a bit more if something is genuinely worth it, but we'd rather avoid overrated tourist traps (except the swing lol)

Here are a few things I'd love your suggestions on:

  • Are we missing any must-do adventure experiences in Bali?
  • Based on what we're looking for, what itinerary would you recommend?
  • Which 2 areas/cities would you stay in?
  • What's a realistic budget we should expect for this kind of honeymoon (excluding shopping)?
  • Is there anything that's hyped up online but not actually worth the time or money?
  • Should we do a travel agent and as them to customise, or travel on our own?
  • Which hotels do we pick?

Would love to hear from people who've been there, especially couples who did Bali for their honeymoon.

Thanks in advance! Lots of love and respect! ❤️

MacBook at 1.10L

I’m getting MacBook Air M5 Starlight colour, base model at 1.10L, but I’m thinking weather I’m buying out of FOMO just because prices are increasing , or i genuinely need it.

I can easily wait for next 6 months before buying a new laptop.

And I expect with discounts the prices after 6 months should come down to 1.25L-1.30L.

So buying today in FOMO at 1.10L, vs Buying after 6 months at 1.25L?

Why isn’t dark chocolate consumption huge in India yet?

And which is best dark chocolate brand in India?
