I’ve gone thru 2 games, both times completing reconstruction an shit, they just all the sudden stopped doing it, anyone else having this problem?

in most visual media I see from games workshop the strength of the heretic astartes seems to be nowhere close to those still loyal, I’ve seen like 2 lone marines clear entire platoons worth of sons of Horus it feels like

I have a feeling the books and tabletop have less of an issue but is it still like this? is there any lore reasons or is it just the main characters needing something to slaughter

I've been bashing my head against the wall here for 2 days trying to figure out how to win this scripted battle. I'm playing on the story mode as Separatist from the beginning and now i'm stuck at the battle of Kamino

The Republic not only has about a near dozen heros, half of them jedi, but there seems to be a limitless amount of random jedi paladins, vehicles, and clone commandos. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Does anyone have any tips or tricks?
