Hey Reddit, I'm trying to clear up some confusion about a term. I know the standard definitions (like the President's wife or a pastor's wife), but I've heard the term "First Lady" used in street/gang contexts.

However, I know someone who calls a female friend his "First Lady," but they are not in a relationship (and I definitely don't bang or live that lifestyle).

In street culture or gang slang, what does "First Lady" actually mean? Does it strictly mean a romantic partner/old lady, or can it be used platonically for a close female associate or right-hand person? Is this just a Crip thing?

I’m curious what everyone’s experience has been with internal office moves.

My request has been open for 3 weeks now with no movement. I have seen many desks at my pod that have been vacant for months.

I know everything in the agency moves at its own pace, but I’m trying to gauge if I should follow up. How was your experience? What was the outcome ?

I am trying to help my friend out with housing. He has a felony from 2019. He has been at his job for over a year. He is having difficulty finding anywhere to rent because of his credit and an eviction on his record from late 2025. I looked here on Reddit for information but a lot of the posts are months to years old. Are there any apartment complexes that you know for a fact have a second chance program or any other resources he can take advantage of?
