How do you vet apartments?

How are yall choosing apartments?

Looking at reviews is almost useless because they're inflated by 5-star bribe reviews mixed in with 1-star reviews from people who had the worst experience.

I've been looking for 2-4 star reviews to get a better idea, but that's still questionable.

I moved into a roach infested place years ago so I am extra stressed about the possibility of it happening again.

How do yall pick a place? What's your vetting process?

Choosing between Panama City and Cartagena

Hi folks, I would love some feedback on a quick (3-5 day) trip to either Panama or Colombia.

This would be extremely short notice (within the next month or so) but I need a release so I'm considering it.

I'm looking for somewhere:

- Reasonably priced in terms of lodging and food (theoretically no more than $100 a day in spending)

- safe (whatever that means)

- safe in terms of food safety (I have some digestive issues)

- a variety of food

- somewhere I don't have to do a lot of research beforehand to enjoy

Would Panama City or Cartagena in July satisfy this list? I'm also fine with scrapping the whole thing and saving to do it later with more planning.

Thanks in advance for insight!

Mini pill breakthrough bleeding question

Hi yall, I had been on the combined pill for more than a decade but for the last 4 months I've been on the mini pill. The goal is to avoid periods and ovulation (I know mini pill is more questionable for ovulation). I'm having bleeding now that looks like the start of a period (I've taken the pill max within an hour of the same time every day).

Should I keep taking the mini pill every day if a period is coming through or do I stop it? Or is it a matter of preference?

Two questions for in store employees

Hey recent TMobile store workers, I have two questions that I'm hoping yall can answer:

  1. Someone claims they went to the store for help with their phone and the staff member confused them and signed them up for two new lines and one phone. Does that sound possible or are they lying?

  2. I was also told they went into the store to cancel that new line but were told they couldn't cancel in the store. Is that true? I've heard a lot about how everything is through the app now, even when you go into the store.

What kind of doctor should I see for postural tinnitus?

Hi folks,

This sub introduced me to the term "postural tinnitus" and that's what I think mine is. It's always been when I turn my head in a certain direction. My ENT, of course, is like *shrug*

But now I'm noticing even more that my tinnitus depends on how and where I'm sitting.

So what kind of doctor should I see for that? It feels out of an ENT's depth but maybe mine just sucked. I don't want to see a chiropractor. Would an orthopedist make sense?

Thanks!

Why did TLC even bother trying to blur Alabama's logo?

When Ashia's friend comes to visit while she's packing, she's wearing a sweater with the University of Alabama A on it and TLC clearly tried to blur it but it's still SO obvious.

Is that a legal requirement so that Alabama won't look affiliated with this mess or something? But that can't be it because anyone can be a Crimson Tide fan 🤔

Can you tell me your experience of quitting a job after only a few months for a better one?

I've been on the job market for over a year. I'm in reference checks for a position that doesn't pay anywhere near what I'm looking for, but I need to take anything at this point. Also I understand no offer is a for sure thing until I've actually started the job tbh.

However, I'd keep looking and am in interview stages for 3 other positions. I know (and have seen people at my old jobs) leave after a couple months, but it still sounds intimidating.

Ladies who have done this, is it as alarming/as much of a shitty move as it sounds/feels like? Are there best practices for doing this?

Trust me, I'm Team Me above all especially because I'm single so I will still do it, just curious about the nuances of it.

Black folks with sebderm, please tell me what products/routine worked for you

I've known I had sebderm for years but it comes in waves. I've had the ketoconazale 2% for years and don't find it effective.

I'm in a pretty stressed point in my life right now, so my body is reacting in different ways, including with the sebderm. I saw another dermatologist who mentioned that washing my hair 2-3 times a month isn't sufficient with this, even though she understands it's cultural.

I'm seeing folks on here talk about washing with the ketoconazale daily, but that just doesn't feel realistic for my life. Detangling etc every day would make it take an hour minimum. I've gone to weekly washes and that's still not moving the needle much.

So: How have you been able to manage this with Black hair?

It's also spread to my nose area in the last couple of years which is a whole other story at this point 🫩😳
