[question/blogpost] do you care that people don’t care about the watch on your wrist, which you have likely poured considerable care into caring about?

my fellow students of whoreology, an innovative and revelatory post on the main sub brought to my attention that it’s very likely the vulgar masses don’t notice/respect/become erect that every day I strap my entire personality onto my left wrist (I’m right handed). I’m really shaken and wondering why I got into this hobby in the first place. if the prevailing wisdom is “if you like it, wear it,” and no one gives a shit anyways, what is actually stopping me from donning the 55mm Invicta reserve in solid gold with prostate stimulator complication ive always remained in the closet about wearing?

Wasn’t a fan of the mustard yellow strap this came with, and I’m really into this combo.

I’m interested in this Timex model but wondering if anyone knows if it comes in a non-handwatch configuration?

Need some advice. Worried my wife and I may have to start planning for special education for our 4 month old.

I have always wanted to be a dad, and while I would’ve been thrilled with either, there’s something special about having a boy.

taking a risk and posting this, because the Internet can be a very judgmental place.

My son is always grabbing onto my watch when I hold him, and was thinking maybe he might share my love of horology and carry on the tradition. So while Mom is at the store, I unstrapped my Timex post solar 36mm expedition to let him play with it.

This is when I started to get very concerned. He didn’t seem to care, much less acknowledge in the least when I was trying to explain to him that the Timex post solar 36mm expedition features a sapphire crystal with excellent anti-reflective coating, a screw down crown, and superb legibility. I was also deeply concerned with the lack of emotion he showed when I lamented that the lume is pretty shit.

All he wanted to do was try to put the watch in his mouth. As a father, it’s kind of hard to understand just how painful that is unless you’ve been there.

I’m really worried because he’s been hitting all of his other milestones, like rolling, fine motor skills, he’s even starting to vocalize quite a bit. but after what I witnessed, I fear my wife and I are going to have to have a really serious discussion about the difficult path he might have compared to most horo-typical kids. If anyone has been in this position before, it would mean a lot to me if you could share your experience what kind of services might be out there to remedy this.

Scareware? Pop-ups on work computer that continued to appear, computer’s security system said no threats detected

Im a therapist working for a large national agency that has a pretty robust third party IT support provider. I was researching nicotine addiction earlier today, and one site I clicked on redirected automatically to ads for supplements. I closed the page but fake “antivirus“ popups began appearing and wouldn’t leave. Immediately contacted IT and was advised to shut down the device. before i was instructed to do so, I checked the windows security center tab and it said no threats were detected. very cursory research leads me to believe this was an example of scareware, and just wanted to understand a little better. Not worried about my job or getting fired, sounds like they’re just going to provide a new laptop. just curious what happens from here on the IT side, and confirm I didn’t totally invite the barbarians through the gates. Thanks!

Did anyone just see the craziest shooting star? From EMU campus looking west was the angle I saw it from, stayed visible for at least 2 1/2 to 3 seconds.

Just needed to share bc even though it’s probably the lowest tier reward, still felt like a hero’s journey to see it to completion

Hello I would like some advice regarding replacing my Timex 36mm field watch (sapphire crystal, screw down crown, solar) with this what I’m assuming is an omega? I have not seen the watermaster series before and I’m wondering if you think Reddit would approve (for validation purposes)

also, should I be concerned it’s not Swiss made?

Which do you guys think 36mm field watch on my 7.25in uhh, wrist vs. 3’ liferaftmaster (gen vintage omega)

Makoto Kodawari with meteorite dial

love this more minimalist dial and how it lets the meteorite really take precedence

[Makoto] Kodawari with meteorite dials

What I love about meteorite dials is that the windminstätten patterns look like an M.C. Escher sketch of a series of geometric rooms and spaces, almost forming optical illusions in some cases. Picked this specific piece because a lot of meteorite dials out there are a little busier with logos and complications that there’s less of the actual meteorite to view.
