Living experience in Oakville as a 18 year old college student

I will be moving into Oakville in less than 2 months, and aside from me having to recover from a surgery for the first couple of weeks, how is living in Oakville as a teenager?

For example, I’ve never experienced what you would call “night life” or “goin around the city for adventures” during my highschool years as I have been new to Canada and a really introverted kid in general, but now I’m starting to be a bit extroverted and wanted to make friends so I wanted to know, are there like, events or places or like is the downtown a fun place or do teenagers my age even hang out in Oakville? I will be taking an arts related course at Sheridan with it being 20mins away with bus, so I wanted to know really bad, will be isolated again because of the city/town being less or a “teenager fun friendly” place or is it actually a pleasant and chaotic experience for teenagers to especially make friends.

If there’s anyone who would share their experience, specially other younger people, would be appreciated a lot!

Also if there’s any tips for moving into a new town and living alone for the first time, I would appreciate them too!

Thank you for your time!

[loveless] why is it that “problematic series” always have some of the best representation? (Kinda)

I’ve read the first volume of loveless, and while yes I understand why people think it’s “weird”, personally, as long as it’s fiction I’m fine but that isn’t important right now, what’s more important is that for many years, I just didn’t come across a character who rid themselves from the agency of “being themselves” specifically when it concerns how it will effect other people, in this case being ritsuka’s mom. I have seen similar things with kaneki from Tokyo ghoul, but it feels like the two are kinda different in reason while really close in theme and expression.

Now the title of this post kinda feels different from the post itself, but I like to leave this question here:

**why is it that it’s like most of the times “socially not acceptable” medias that end up offering, not just a good representation but straight up a really compelling story and theme? And has it ever stopped you from enjoying a series?**

Personally, no, it never stopped me, and I feel like when an author says “fah it” and goes in full throttle, they end up going into many ideas and exploring many different tropes which end up becoming a good series. Sorry, my post was made in a rush!

Where to start for spider noir and what is its release order

So ya’ll know the show is now, I haven’t seen it, so I thought maybe I should give the comics a go because I remember since the time I played the shattered dimensions game, noir was always in my mind, so I was wandering about where to start with noir and if copies of its comics are still available for physical purchase.
Or should I just watch the live action?

Thanks to anyone responding

Kirara’s gender and why I think every side of the community is fighting for no reason over a beautiful character

EDIT: I was a fool to believe jjk fans will read more than 2 paragraphs

I want to begin this with
NO, I don’t believe that Kiara is a certain gender, and I’m not at all looking to slander or bully someone who believe Kiara to be a certain way, this is just a heartfelt opinion I wanted to share, especially since it’s kirara’s month!

So I wanted to say that, whenever I see discourse about kirara and their gender, I see so many people fighting over this one part of the character that is kept mostly ambiguous and no one actually talks about how much this character fits into jjk’s world especially considering their appearance and curse technique.

To me, a lot of stuff in jjk are left somewhat ambiguous because they are meant to be interpreted. Like geto and gojo and how both arguments of if they share a bed or are just as close as brothers, is always fun to talk about with the right people because it’s mostly a silly argument on how you perceive the character, but when it comes to kirara, one side keeps saying that they’re confirmed to be male even tho they haven’t, while the other side is saying that they are obviously trans, and I just can’t understand either side most of the times

Kirara never was referred to as a certain gender except like once, and the remarks that hakari made in that one chapter was mostly a masculine slur than it being a direct “I’m not into men” in jp, so to me, it’s really up to you on how you perceive the character because, to me, the fact that the character is a little bet mysterious is what makes the character so beautiful and how literally both arguments can work for the character to some degree.

Again, I’m not saying that “kirara is x gender and all bigots should F OFF!” I’m just saying that how you perceive and read a character and proceed to see yourself in them is one of the best parts of a story, especially a character like kirar

I have seen many discourse about a lot of characters where some like Bridget were literally confirmed to be trans in strive and at the same time, other series were people would argue that a character is actually trans but you would see them give you a analysis other than like facts in the story, for example Gwen from across the spider verse, I’ve seen many video essays about how the character is a really good representation of coming out and transitioning and how her dad and music literally get so colorful the second Gwen comes in peace with her identity and secret that she kept from most people she knew, and one comment under a video that was debating if the analysis could actually work, and someone’s response to it literally cut through my mental barrier. It was “that’s the beauty of reading through a character and analyzing them over a certain type of lens that you apply and coming to a conclusion that resembles your heart to a certain degree or the opposite” and since I have learned how to apply lenses to essays and form analysis-esc arguments in my writers craft class, I can appreciate peoples views on a character a lot more, and genuinely wanna hear people out on everything instead of fighting with them over my own thoughts and belief on a character

To me, kirara is the glazed one and a really cute character that was screwed over by jujutsu society and their Shenanigans. But seeing so many people say that they feel seen once presented with the character, regardless of they perceive them, truly warms my heart! Seeing people relate to a character over a analysis is literally so beautiful, cause you are going over all of the characters characteristics like ethnicity, culture, language, and gender, and form a literal human bond with them that’s exclusive to you

I just hope people actually start to see each others vision instead of trying to bully each other out of the fanbase regardless of who they are and their beliefs.

(I wanted to also talk about our favorite femboy waffled farmer but no one is ready for him since he’s in cour two😭)

HAPPY KIRARA MONTH EVERYBODY! IDC WHAT YOU THINK THE CHARACTER IS, I WISH YOU A HAPPY MONTH REGARDLESS❤️

For a 17 year old, which clinics are good for getting rhinoplasty, ptosis correction and maybe a bit of contouring

So I’ve been meaning to take on the surgery in Korea since in Canada, I really can’t take the risks as I’ve seen the difference in level between the two industries and i am willing to got the extra mile for this surgery.
I wanted to know, does anyone have any recommendations or personal experience with any of the clinics in Korea and, is 21 days of rest enough to be able to get back to home after the surgery, since I’m planning to be back before August for college.

Need help, should i scrap the piece or keep working on it?

This may be the 5th or 6th piece that I try to draw originally with as few references as possible, and I am pretty much a rookie in colours. I wanted to know if anyone has any idea whether I should scrap the piece and redraw it, or if I should redraw/recolour the background or the characters. I'd appreciate any form of feedback, even if it's different than what I asked for. I'd be happy if you would share your thoughts as well, as my brain exhausts itself a lot when drawing with only basic references for character design and stuff.

Looking for reliable facial surgeons in Canada

I wanted to see if anyone knew any surgeon in Canada as I wanted to do rhinoplasty, bleph, and a bit of asymmetry for one side of my face, and some contouring for my chin and cheekbones a little bit. With a really small amount of hair implant as there is a single small spot on the side of my head and even though it isn’t noticeable, it’s annoying. What surgeons have you guys have had experience from because in all honesty, everyone that I lookup online, I see at least one negative review that destroys my heart. For reference, I am 18, male, if helps. I am grateful for any recommendations or advice, tho I am determined to get this surgery some what or another.
And in any case, I hope that people only recommend surgeons in Canada, as I don’t think I can move to another country unless I find it SUPER hard to find a good surgeon here.
