Forerunner 970 vs Fenix 8 Pro vs wait for Fenix 9 Pro

Looking to replace my older forerunner with a newer model. I use it for running (about 6 miles a day and I run half marathons) and sleep tracking. Occasionally use it when biking and hiking. I wear it all day in the office at work as well and use the smart features. The obvious choice is a Forerunner 970, but I'm wondering if the Fenix 8 Pro (47 inch AMOLED version) is significantly nicer and whether I should go that direction, OR will it be too bulky to run and sleep in and I'll regret it. I don't really care about the cost difference, just want the better product for me. Anybody have experience with both and have an opinion. I also would consider waiting for a Fenix 9 Pro.

What cars do people in here drive?

I'm a car snob but I've recently made the transition to EVs. We have a BMW i4 M50 and a Rivian R1S Tri-Motor. We're looking at replacing the i4 with something bigger and are probably going Porsche Macan EV or Cayenne EV. Curious what cars others in this subreddit drive.

Some of the recommendations and responses in this subreddit crack me up

First, before I'm downvoted, this post is NOT about posts where the person asking about what car to buy is looking for something that's reliable on a tight budget. All good with suggesting used Corolla or whatever in that case. I've seen some ridiculous things in here though where people are trying to talk someone out of what they want.

There was a thread yesterday where the OP was a young female lawyer looking at some luxury sedans with a decent budget, and half of the responses were that if she doesn't get a Lexus or a Toyota then she'll be making the worst choice ever and will have maintenance nightmares.

I saw another thread where a young engineer was considering an RS5 and M3, and someone posted that people will judge them and that they should put money in a Roth IRA instead.

Yesterday, I posted that my wife was looking for an electric or hybrid luxury SUV to replace a performance BMW and were looking at Porsche Macan/Cayenne EV/PHEV, Audi and BMW, and someone kept posting and responding that we should get a Seinna hybrid (we don't need a minivan, I was considering luxury options, and we already have a 3-row Rivian R1S).

Again, I understand advising people to get something reliable on a budget or advising a Seinna over a Highlander if the person needs more space, but when the OP is looking for a cool option and does have budget, I don't understand why a car community thinks that the only choices are either used Japanese cars, minivans, and that the only luxury pick should be Lexus.

Is it crazy to get a second Chase Sapphire Reserve for my wife for the SUB?

I have both CSR and Amex Platinum, and for both cards my wife is the AU. We take about 4-5 trips a year and get way more value out of both cards than the AF. We put about $75k on CSR, and in addition to that and Plat, we also have the Freedom Unlimited for catch all and United Quest since we live near a United hub and I have silver status.

When we travel we usually book nicer hotels and restaurants but save money in airfare and go economy plus (I've never flown business class before). We have a wedding to go to in India in the fall and will likely fly Emirates. I've decided that we should go business class so we can finally experience it. Chase has Emirates as a 1:1 travel partner, so I was thinking that it would make sense to open a second card for the 150k SUB that can be used towards the tickets. We actually are making a purchase in about a week that would hit the spend needed for the SUB. This plus the points we have (we just used a lot towards another trip) would allow us to book one round trip ticket with points and the other with cash.

Is this crazy or does this make sense? Anybody else do this? I was thinking that after a year I'd just downgrade the second card to a CSP if it doesn't make sense to have two of the same card, although it's really not hard to offset the fee with the Edit credit and hotels credit stacking.

Edit: as pointed out below Chase no longer transfers to Emirates as of last year, but the same question applies for Amex Platinum instead.

Does switching to premium economy trigger airline credit on United?

I'm having trouble finding a way to use this credit. I live near a United hub and have United status and a United Quest card that I use for booking tickets. I have an overnight flight to Europe that I booked in economy and was wondering if I use my Platinum card to switch to a Premium Economy seat it'll trigger the credit (note, I'm not talking about economy plus I know that does trigger it). Anybody do this successfully?

I'm going to a wedding in India and would love to fly business class to Emirates. I have both Chase Sapphire Reserve and AMEX Platinum already and have about 100k points between the two of them since I just redeemed a lot for another trip. I'm at 3/24 and have 800+ credit score. No issues hitting spend requirement for a sub. What do folks recommend to accrue a bunch more points
