Did this med not work for you?

Just started venlafaxine, 1 week of 37.5mg, now a few days into 75mg seeing my psychiatrist in 2 weeks. He reckons I'll see results around 2 weeks into 75mg.

I've historically been totally resistant to SSRIs and SNRIs so I'm not holding much hope, but I read so many success stories about Effexor.

Just wondering if there's anyone who it wasn't helpful for? If so, what was?

Taking for depression and anxiety.

Had hella side effects week 1, now the only lingering side effect is I'm practically numb downstairs and cant orgasm at all.

Started Effexor today. 37.5mg. ...interesting.

37.5mg for a week, 75mg for 2 weeks then psychiatrist review. He reckons it kicks in around 2 weeks.

But no word of a lie, I feel very calm and my head is cleared of thoughts (good) after taking my first dose. So I know thats a side effect, not an effect, because it's the first dose, but I hope the empty head stays because I cannot switch my inner monologue off and the noise in my head is exhausting.

Would love to hear other's experiences, how long did it take for you to feel therapeutic effects, what side effects didn't go away, and is 37.5mg a therapeutic dose at all or did you increase? How's your libido lol?

I have depression, anxiety, mood swings and depression related 'distress' and temper/meltdowns. Also taking lamotrigine which does nothing for me really.

Did it clear your head? Do you take it at night time or morning? I was told it was activating so I took it early in the day but I definitely feel tired.

Yes, yes, I know, I've only taken one dose but just curious about your experience.

Pressure sensitivity gone wack after update!

I've been back and forth with Procreate support troubleshooting this and nothing has worked. They've told me to test my pencil at an Apple store but this happened immediately after the last update. I was using Procreate at the time of updating.

Changing the size of brushes does nothing, lines come out thick/thin regardless of my pressure, and I get strange variations in the one line. Almost all brushes are affected, except a few liners which dont have pressure sensitivity anyway. I can't blend with airbrushes, because its not registering the pressure sensitivity.

This is my job. I cant uninstall and reinstall as I'll lose 7-8yrs of my work. It doesnt even seem possible to back it up to icloud?

Does the anxiety side effect go away?

Been on Lamotrigine for about 4 months, titrating up slowly from 25mg now at 150mg. It's not helping my mood, and I think it's made my anxiety worse but I felt good for the first week of 25mg and 50mg so I'm seeing it through to 200mg just in case it kicks in.

But the anxiety is hard to deal with. Its certainly not as bad as it was at the start but I always have this undercurrent of anxiety and it's exhausting. I do have anxiety naturally but I think it's worse since starting this med. How long til it started working for you?

How do you know what size to cut anything on your own design?

I've got a learning 'disability' with numbers, they just dont make sense to me. I want to build something for the first time of my own design. I have no problem drawing it up, but have no idea how to size or scale each piece to be cut, if that makes sense?

If I know I want it to be x high I can cut the height timber, but how do I know exactly how big any other connecting piece needs to be to scale of my drawing?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't understand how people just know, or if there's a formula to these things, or if it's guesstimation then trial and error.

No effect.

Started titrating from 25mg months ago, now at 125 after being at 100 for 5 weeks. At 25 and 50 I felt good for a few days then back to depressed.

I feel no benefit at this dosage, still depressed and mood swinging, if anything anxiety a bit worse.

Keep going?

Does Healthy Care (Australian brand) Ashwagandha work?

Its 300mg withania somnifera dry root extract, "equivalent to 13.5mg dried root". I don't feel any benefits from it having taken a single tablet, twice, as a highly anxious and stressed person. I know not all ashwagandha is equal, but how can I tell what is?

Repetitive speech and movements

When Im really stressed or panicking I'll involuntarily speak one of a few usual sentences in a sing song voice, usually it's "I wish I was different", "I'm sorry", or "I can't" etc, sometimes over and over again.

When its really bad sometimes I'll shake my head in a weird way, like move my head all the way to one side and screw my face up, and it's almost like it's automatic like I'm not choosing to do that. It's really embarrassing when it happens in public. It accompanies the "cringe" feeling a lot.

I don't know what all this is, it feels like its becoming more frequent and Im worried about it happening in front of others and looking like I'm nuts. Any insight?

Skin still red after Cytopoint

My Maltese Shih Tzu (8) had his first Cytopoint injection 6 days ago, but his groin area is still looking very red.

I haven't been home much so not sure how much the licking has improved (someone else is home, he's not alone!), does it take a while for redness to subside?

Skin thinning from steroids

I was using hydrocortisone internally to treat desquamative inflammatory vaginitis which was working, then a doctor switched me to betamethasone which made all my symptoms come back now I'm dealing with external soreness from it leaking out I think, and I'm concerned my internal and external vaginal skin may have thinned from such a potent steroid.

Has anyone had this happen and how long did it take to reverse? I want to restart my hydrocortisone treatment. I also have vaginal atrophy already, being treated with Vagifem estrogen pessaries.

What IS medical evidence for DSP?

I'm applying for DSP with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after many years on and off Jobseeker with my breakdowns.

I have a letter from my psychologist and will be getting a letter from my GP outlining my diagnosis, symptoms in line with the impairment tables, and treatments tried.

I have no idea what else to include to support my case or what people are talking about when they say it took them months to compile evidence.

I'm not a bludger, genuinely just can't live my life so please be kind.

How long do you stay on a dose before you decide to increase? Not titration.

Maintenance dose, not titration. I know titration needs to be done in 2+ week intervals.

I'm at 100mg, my doctor told me to increase in a month if I needed it. I'm 3 weeks into 100mg and not feeling the benefit and really desperate to feel better.

Does it truly need a month to become effective or should I increase now?

How to shoot Ilford 3200 if my camera's highest ISO is 1200?

I have a Minolta x700, I usually shoot 800 or Cinestill 400D but I'm doing my first indoor gig shoot which will be too low light for 800.

Ive never shot 3200 or any black and white film. I shoot entirely manual, but my Minolta's ISO only goes to 1200. I'm not too good with numbers and havent wrapped my head around "stop higher/lower".

Should I just put my shutter a couple numbers higher than my light meter suggests at 1200? I'd prefer to get nice, crisp, high contrast shots. I love a good black shadow.

Is it worth it?

How can you tell what's a side effect and what's an existing symptom the Lamotrigine is supposed to be treating?

Taking for depression and mood swings. Before Lamotrigine, I was in the pits.

For the first week at 25mg and 50mg I felt better, before feeling bad again. At 75mg and 100mg, I'm not feeling relief.

I'm feeling a bit worse than I did before Lamotrigine, but I was feeling really really bad before starting this med so I have no idea if it could be worse because of it, or if it just hasn't reached a therapeutic dose yet.

To be honest, I'm having some unsafe thoughts, which I also had before Lamotrigine but they are a little worse right now. So I'm taking this seriously.

For how long should I push through this titration?

At what dose did you find relief for your mental health?

Did you experience worse mood as a side effect and did it go away?

If so, how did you know it was even caused by the Lamotrigine?
