dropped food on baby while babywearing

today I was eating biscuits and gravy and dropped a bit of gravy near my six-week-old son’s mouth while he was in his carrier. I’m pretty sure I wiped it all away before any would have gone in his mouth, but there was some against his lip so I’m not totally sure if he ingested a tiny bit. has anyone else dropped food on their newborn while in the carrier? I feel terrible!

best mac and cheese?

I’m less than one week from my due date and the only thing I can think about is mac and cheese, but I’m way past the point of wanting to make it myself. Do you have a favorite mac and cheese in Boston that you’d recommend? I searched this sub before posting but the only mac post I could find was 14 years old.

Will “travel” (cross the river) for mac and cheese, so feel free to include Cambridge/Somerville suggestions!

registry reccs for NICU stay?

My husband and I recently learned that our baby has a congenital heart defect and while this fortunately won’t impact our labor/delivery plans, we will be spending about a week in the NICU after delivery and then another week or so around 3 months for surgery. Doctors are very positive about our baby’s case and baby is expected to make a full recovery, which is obviously what’s most important! We feel very lucky and supported.

That said, a friend asked if I planned to add anything to my registry knowing we have these two upcoming hospital stays. It’s a great question and I hadn’t considered it. Does anyone have recommendations for what they loved having, or wished they had, during extended hospital stays with a newborn and/or 3 month old? This is our first child (besides our precious dog who will be home with grandma). Thanks in advance for your insight!

how are we keeping hydrated overnight?

It’s hot! I’ve been drinking a full 30oz water bottle throughout the night and still feel dehydrated when I wake up. Has anyone cracked the code on overnight hydration? I’m waking up every couple hours to pee so I could double up on water bottles overnight but then I fear I won’t actually sleep in between pee breaks.

Are we drinking electrolytes overnight, even after brushing our teeth? Are we chugging water before bed and hoping it gives us a solid hydration foundation to last through the night? Or are we all waking up feeling dehydrated and trying to catch up in the morning?

I’m a FTM due in September so I still have several hot months to go!

I like to collect locally made home decor when I travel and I’m currently in the market for new placemats. My husband and I are visiting London in a few weeks, and I’m wondering if there are any small businesses you would recommend I check out. I’m open to all kinds of styles and aesthetics and am willing to travel anywhere that’s I can reach by the subway, but my priority is to support local artisans if possible.

Google isn’t delivering on this subject so I appreciate any suggestions!
