Dried polish?

I had a company apply ceramic coating yesterday. I am very confident this mark/residue was not there before but they say it was existing. The car sitting, this was me looking at the car as they finished. They had three people working on the car the entire time.

First they said it was failed clear coat, then later said it was external material etched from not cleaning it for long periods.

Picture 1, you can see the stain very clearly and it can be felt to the touch.
They said they clay barred and polished it and the residue didn’t come off. This was the finished product after the ceramic coating on the car.

Picture 3 and 4, I did a localized wash and got the stain residue off and smooth to the touch. I don’t understand why they couldn’t get it off when they washed the car.

Could this be dried polish or some other solution? Just wanted to get some responses on what it could be for my own information.

Update question: if the mark was left from bird poop, why were they not able to remove it or make it less apparent in picture 1, but I was able to almost remove it entirely with dish soap in picture 3 and 4?

Overall, they did a good job and I’m happy with it. The car has its fair share of scratches, rock chips, and dents and dings. I am very confident this stain wasn’t there before though.

Atlanta July Caffeine and Octane

With it being July4th weekend, the crowd was much smaller and not many G37 there. Here are the few I came across and took pictures of.

Was at a dyno day to support an acquaintance’s business, Caste Performance.

On Countersteer’s dynojet, I made 331whp. On NightOwl Performance’s dynojet I made 338whp. On Caste Performance’s dynojet I made 320whp. All used STD CF.

All three dyno had the same mods:
3” intakes
Short tube headers
Test pipe
Full Exhaust
Ported upper and lower manifold
75mm TB.

This is why I tell people not to focus on numbers when comparing to other’s.

Another example was before headers, I made 310whp at Coutnersteer’s dyno, and at Z1 Motorsport’s dyno I made 320whp. Same mods on both dyno.

I took a gamble to buy this diffuser off Street Designs. I was on the fence about as it didn’t feel legit at first.

Ordered on March 4th and recover it yesterday, April 28th.

The piece isn’t perfect as there is waviness but overall isn’t bad in comparison to the actual Carbon Signal piece. This was about $800 shipped. This would be the same price as just the fiberglass version of the Carbon Signal. Their site is currently down also.

I’ll see how it fits on the car and do another post.

Here is a video of it.

Mounted a set of Enkei PF01 18x10.5 +38 with 255/40 and 285/35.

The high offset in the 18x10.5 is rubbing the knuckle and I currently have a 20mm spacer.

I have seen 19x10.5 +45 clear with a 5mm spacer.

The knuckle is narrower further up.

The rears sit pretty nice for the 285 on it.
