Unsure of what to do, husband being emotionally abusive

For the past few years mostly(although it’s been going on much longer but not as bad) my husband has been very emotionally abusive because of my ED. We are both almost 40
W 2 kids. I’ve been dealing with an ED for 20
Years. Mostly in form of “quasi” recovered state, not severely underweight, but very compulsive exercise and rigid eating routines. Very ocd for both which I’m not on medication for. I’ve been seeing a therapist weekly for a couple years, and went to residential last year but left after 2 weeks , for unforeseen circumstance. It actually was a relief being there, (even though the no movement piece was very hard. )
Anyways, over the past 3 yrs my husband has become more annoyed at my ways. And feels my inflexibility around my routines to be hard to live with. I am completely understanding of all of this and am never denying that it isn’t an issue. I’ve just obviously been living with the need to have this routine to keep me “safe”. Especially when I became a mom, I latched on to the need for my exercise and eating routine even more. Covid further engrained it . A year ago I worked w a recovery coach who told me I would need to go cold turkey on exercise. This was the most difficult thing to do and still haven’t completely stoppped for prolonged period. I cut it down, changed things out, just walked… but would spiral back. My husband (also an athlete and loves to workout) knew my coach told me I’d need to completely stop … so in trying to go from hours of exercise to nothing , it was not easy. I’d find myself doing squats around the house to get little bursts in , or burpees upstairs while putting clothes away, and if he suspected something he would be super angry. I became very afraid of him and his reactions. So I struggled, trying to completely stop , but still trying to just get even 10 min of something in , in secret. And this snowballed. I’d have to go for walks while running errands on days he worked from home. Or try to sneak in little bits here and there. It was so stressful. Still is. Later I reached back out to my therapist to work with her again and she said she never would have had me try to go cold turkey. She’d ween me down. My psychiatrist said the same thing. And being how bad my ocd became , that it would be nearly impossible to just stop it all without medication. But my husband just saw any bit of me working out as failure and resistance and refusal to change. Yet it’s funny that he has always been so controlling and upset about me doing any form of exercise yet never upset if I don’t eat something or seeing me continue eating the way I eat. Which ultimately me going for a walk could be the lesser of the evils compared to not eating?
So… because of all this. We live in constant state of tension. He doesn’t see the change he thinks I should have made already and wants me
To go back to a treatment facility and is basically emotionally abusive , and seeming to punish me into going. Which many of u may know that will not work. He lashes out at me a lot, makes harsh remarks , always has a mean tone , doesn’t talk to me at all unless I ask a question. Many times says he doesn’t care about me, thinks i dont care about anyone and refuse to change, which is mot the case. I am not happy with the mental torture loop of living with this . I am not content and saying oh I don’t care this is how i want to be. I told him if I got to point where I feel I can’t do it in my own , I will reach out to centersbut I am not at that point. It’s difficult as a mom as well, and my kids have already dealt with me being away a few times (once to a facility and twice to my aunts to try and create a facility like environment to change behaviors, which did work) but my kids were falling apart each time. It’s hard knowing how mean and cold my husband has become and how little he has truly cared about me . I don’t know I could get over knowing how he has treated me. I am not a bad person, just saline with a mental illness. Yet he goes telling his family and friends I lie and am deceitful simply because I was struggling trying to not exercise, and not being able to fully stop. I’m sure others know how this disease can make u shameful and secretive to simply survive. I wasn’t refusing to change by caving and going for a walk when I was told to cold turkey do nothing, I was just struggling. Going from hours of intense exercise to trying to do nothing at all. Anyways, long vent. But looking for any advice
And similar stories.

Anyone else struggle with compulsive exercise and when they try to stop feel MORE tired? It’s like once we begin working out we override our bodies true fatigue?

Rubicon sticker or not

Realize I should post a picture of my jeep for help in my decision but I bought a red 4door rubicon on carvana and it came without the rubicon sticker on the sides of hood. It looks kinda nice without but I had bought some nice teal blue rubicon decals to put on sides… I love color and have always liked red with teal. Wondering what I should do? Leave it without or put the rubicon decals on.

For those who are recovered or almost there …

For those who are recovered, did your need for food routines / compulsive movement lessen a lot or go away completely once recovered ? Did complete physical recovery do this or did the change only happen once u mentally worked on it? Hope that makes sense. I know a lot of ED traits are said to go away once the body is just fully weight restored, such as neurotic thoughts/ ocd about things

Best treatment center for compulsive exercise

Title says it…. Anyone been to a residential center that has a great program for conquering super compulsive exercise? Even working w athletes or at least has a movement specialist? Other program I went to really didn’t have any specialized help in this area… they just allowed no movement

Treatment centers

Are there any private treatment centers that are more individualized and maybe “high end “ . Even if more
Expensive?? Just curious if anyone knows or has had experience with something like this. Seems most treatment centers in the US are like Mills… just cycling people in and out under the same protocols and same outdated treatments

Changing Rubicon sticker on the side of the hood

Has anyone had success putting a different colored Rubicon decal on the side of the hood? Just looking to change it up from the label that comes with the Jeep and doing something the different color. If so, where did you buy from and how did you go about having it taken off and replaced with the different colored decal

Jeep wrangler owners of New England

How many of you have a Jeep Wrangler with only a hardtop? And if you are someone who likes to go most of the summertime without it on, how do you manage that best? Storage? What about if it rains? Do you just get a tarp and put it over it at night? I always had a soft top but I’m now looking to potentially just get a hard top in this new Jeep

I’m looking to purchase a four-door Wrangler in the coming weeks and was going to get the cloth interior and have them install tan leather into it. I’m just worried that I’m not gonna like how it looks . Wondering if anyone has had success with this and could show pictures??!

Am I being taken advantage of by dealer?!!

Looking to buy a jeep wrangler rubicon and I wanted the 35 in tires… the deal I’ve been working with was helping me decide between possibly ordering one or getting one brought in from another dealership. In going through ordering one I said I wanted the 35 inch tires and he selected the Xtreme package which includes 35 inch tires as well as a lot of other features which I don’t need. I later went on the regular Jeep website to build one myself and found that there is a option for 35 inch tires at no cost without all of the features that the extreme package included. I’m annoyed that he would select that without telling me that there was just an option for the 35 inch tire at no cost versus the extreme package which is $3000. Of course though , they are in sales 🙄

Any luck ordering manual Jeep?

Looking into getting another wrangler and possibly ordering one. The dealership I’ve been working with said that they can no longer order manual transmission at this time. Has anyone else had the same problem. I know they are hard to come by. Seems more and more people just don’t know how to drive manual anymore. I’ve always had one and was hoping to get another.

Jumping out of skin feeling in recovery

Been in recovery for awhile now and it’s been a lot of ups and downs and steps back and steps forward. Mostly with the exercise component of my eating disorder. Trying to tackle that has been excruciatingly difficult. And I find I’m always second-guessing the recommendations by doctors and recovery coaches, etc. Going cold, turkey and completely stopping has seemingly been the path that I am encouraged to follow being the nature of how compulsive my exercise is. In doing that I find I am constantly feeling like I’m jumping out of my skin And even if I touch my stomach or something and I don’t like how it feels I get that urge to need to move and again that uncomfortable jump out of my skin feel. Has anyone else experienced this and do those feelings go away?

Residential treatment at 40

Wondering if any other women in there 30s/40s have been conflicted in either going to residential treatment or REAllY finally trying to recover on their own with the help of a therapist. I’m 39, wife and mom of 2 young kids. I’ve been seeing a therapist thr past 2 months, but haven’t made tremendous progress , just slowly made some changes to my exercise. She feels residential would be most beneficial if I can’t progress further with what I need to do (cutting out exercise and upping intake) despite being at a pretty healthy weight. I’m conflicted bc obviously no one may truly want to give up their freedoms and go to a treatment center for months, while having a family at home . But also don’t want to drag it all on if I can’t truly do what I need to do and prove I can tolerate the discomfort of the changes on my own. We’ve settled on trying for the next week to completely cut the exercise and see if I’m able to do it on my own and work week by week from there. Feels like my final attempt to do it. Has anyone else had success to do this on their own essentially ? With help from therapist/ dietitian? I eat quite enough which she isn’t as worried about, but my inability to control the movement and exercise has been a struggle. And I know I need to cut it to rewire my brain but it’s been difficult. Which just keeps me in the cycle.

Husband says I’m toxic

39F here with 2 kids 7 and 4. Married 10 years. Been struggling mostly with Orthorexia and over exercise most currently but have had an eating disorder that’s more over the years and likely it was in eye recovery for most of my 20s and 30s when I got married. Anyways, my husband is fed up now and says I’m toxic to the kids and the he has to protect them from me basically, that if my daughter gets an ED it’s all my fault. Now to give you some background, I’ve been inactive recovery the past couple years seeing a therapist. I have gone to a treatment center. Things just have not been happening fast enough for him. And my eating disorder was not ““ as bad in years prior to having kids, etc. it was kind of masked by being in the health and fitness industry that I worked in for so long. But as a mom, I never inflict any diet health or fitness things upon my kids. And my eating disorder I feel is more to cope with anxieties and not weight driven or how I look. It’s just the need to exercise to feel calm and eat a certain way to feel calm, but I never weigh things don’t calorie count. Don’t talk about food. No foods are bad or off-limits and I don’t ever say you have to exercise, etc.. I feel my husband telling me that I am so toxic is hurtful.Looking for advice
