Sketching Vash in 1min30
Did this in my car so it was very awkward 😅
Think I can do it in 1 min next?

Isn't this so peak? I sent a message to u/GloomyAssociation505, the person behind this lovely Sonic x Trigun fanart to ask if they wanted to do an art collab, since we both have something in common, we both love Sonic and Trigun!
I did Sonic as Vash in my style, and they did Knuckles as Wolfwood!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this, it looks so amazing! Hope you guys like it too!!!
I've been experimenting with my style lately, and trying to be more creative with my cover composition. It's pretty "basic" but I like how it turned out, illustration-wise at least. If you saw this cover on a comic/manga store shelf, would you pick it up? If not, why?
I think that’s probably the best thing I can say about Cowboy Bebop: I actually care about these characters now. Like, genuinely. Somewhere between the space bounty hunting, terrible financial decisions, emotional trauma, and extremely questionable life choices, I got attached to this bunch of idiots.
And now the thought of watching the last few episodes feels kinda sad. Not because I don’t want to know how it ends, obviously I do, but because I know there won’t be any more after that. I’m starting to reach that point where I’m watching an episode and thinking, “Wait, I only have HOW many of these left?” Which is never a good sign.
The music, the atmosphere, the writing, the animation, all of it just works so ridiculously well. The show can go from a genuinely hilarious episode to something quietly heartbreaking without making either one feel out of place. Even the slower episodes have this weird charm to them. Sometimes nothing particularly huge is happening, but I’m still completely invested because I just like being around these characters.
I also love how effortlessly cool this show is. It never feels like it’s desperately trying to convince you that it’s cool. It just puts Spike in a suit, plays some absurdly good jazz, and somehow that’s enough.
There’s also this melancholy running through the whole thing that I really love. Even when it’s funny, there’s always this feeling that these characters are carrying around things they don’t really know how to let go of. The show trusts you to notice that without constantly spelling it out.
I’m not quite finished yet, but I already know I’m going to miss watching it. It feels like one of those shows I could come back to years from now and still get something out of. Maybe I’ll understand more of it, maybe I’ll notice things I missed, or maybe I’ll just hear the opening music and immediately want to watch Spike make another catastrophically bad decision.
Either way, I’m really glad I finally watched this!
I just released a new manga, RED CAPE VOYAGER, and I've been getting mixed feedback. Some people say my art ressembles more comics than manga, even though this supposed to be a manga.
I can understand where this is coming from considering the fact that I use heavy shadows and contrasts, but what do you guys think?
By the way, if you want to read my manga, you can here: https://mangaplus-creators.jp/episodes/5u2609010227000027285905
Thank you!
So in these images, you will find some examples for my pencils, inks, and colours. You can read the manga here!

VIZ Originals, although they did reject this submission, they said they enjoyed reading it, so I hope you do too!
To give some context, this is the story: Ryuto is a wandering hero with strength beyond imagination and no idea where he came from. In a world torn apart by the war between humans and Azalians, he fights to protect those in danger, refusing to kill even his most ruthless enemies. But Ryuto isn't human. He isn't Azalian. So what is he?
The idea of a "wandering, lone hero" was the base of this idea, along with inspiration from popular manga such as Trigun.
My teacher, Toshio Maeda has complained a lot about my inking, mostly because I don't use the traditional tools such as G-pens, I find it much more efficient to use a Tombow Fudenosuke, and Sakura Microns.
Story-wise, I was given a very sharp page limit, so there is a lot that had to be cut, or compressed, resulting in this pilot chapter to be much more simple, and borderline generic than I wanted it to be. Since RED CAPE VOYAGER has been quite popular so far, I'm going to start working on a full story soon, 10, 20 page chapters that will be the full story.
Anyway, I hope you guys like it!
Hope you guys like Vash in my style! I probably missed a few details...
Trigun has genuinely been one of the biggest influences on me as an artist. I fell in love with the idea of a wandering hero who can be hilarious one moment and incredibly serious the next, while carrying a strong belief about how they should use their power.
That influence eventually became a big part of RED CAPE VOYAGER. Ryuto is his own character, but the idea of following a wandering hero from town to town, meeting different people, getting into ridiculous situations, and slowly revealing the heavier story underneath definitely comes from my love for Trigun.
Vash also helped me understand that a powerful protagonist doesn't have to be defined by how many people he can destroy. Sometimes the most interesting thing is what he chooses not to do.
So as a little thank-you to the Trigun community, I made this celebratory illustration of Vash alongside Ryuto. Drawing them together was honestly a lot of fun, and it felt like a really fitting way to show where some of RCV's inspiration comes from.
Thank you to everyone in this community for keeping Trigun alive and inspiring another generation of artists and storytellers. ❤️
If you're curious about the manga that came out of that inspiration, you can read RED CAPE VOYAGER here, don't forget to like and comment! : https://mangaplus-creators.jp/episodes/5u2609010227000027285905
Hope you enjoy it, and thank you again, r/Trigun! LOVE AND PEACE!! (I love saying that.)
Holy sh*t. Thank you! ❤️
A little RED CAPE VOYAGER history: this started as a much longer story, but Maeda-sensei challenged me to cut it down and make every panel matter. That ended up shaping R.C.V more than I expected.
Ryuto started as a simple idea: I wanted Izuto, a side character from my first manga KAGE KUDAKI to become th protagonist of my next manga. I eventually started consuming loads more manga from there, to try and find some inspiration. That's when I found Trigun by Yasuhiro Nightow! The idea of wandering hero who's not human even though he looks like one stuck with me as an idea. Then I played with the name, and turned Izuto into Ryuto. The ridiculously powerful, doesn't know where he came from, and has no idea why he exists hero you know today. From there came the red cape, the absurd feats,Azalia, and eventually the bigger story I have planned.
I drew the pilot chapter traditionally with pencil, ink, paper, a ruler, and my phone. Somehow, thousands of people ended up reading it.
7,000 views, and a "We enjoyed reading your manga" from VIZ Originals later, I'm still just getting started.
Thank you to everyone who's read, liked, commented, shared, or even just checked it out.
There’s a lot more coming for RED CAPE VOYAGER!!!

Here are some preview pages ;)
I worked quite hard to make this, although it was admittedly short! VIZ Originals did enjoy reading it. So if you enjoy it too, please support my manga in the Monthly Awards, to give it a fighting chance by liking and commenting! That would be extremely appreciated from an aspiring pro :)

Some preview pages! I worked quite hard despite it being so short. I posted it as a one-shot, but truly I want to develop it into a 10 chapter epic, in a single hardcover book, that's my dream for RED CAPE VOYAGER!
So guys, if you liked RED CAPE VOYAGER, please give it some likes and comments on the website! My goal is to have it in the top 20 of the Monthly Awards.
Any criticism is also welcome, though please take into consideration that the fact that it was so short was obligatory due to personal reasons.
I hope you guys enjoy!
If you could post a comment on the website, that would be really appreciated. I hope I'm allowed to put the link here.
