Which International ETF or MF are you investing in?

I feel like the expense ratio of many ETFs like the Mirae Asset Top 50 ETF and Motilal Nasdaq Tech ETF is pretty high, is that a consideration before investing in the said ETF or MF, for you?. Which is a good choice according to you?

Youtube Channels to Learn French with Proper Pronunciation?

I completed my French A1 Level a couple of years ago but I have forgotten most of it and want to start again. I am pretty sure I will be able to pick it up again fast but I think a lot of the pronunciation my tutor taught me was wrong or not the way French people speak. I want to make sure I get it right this time. Can you recommend some channels that teach French with correct pronunciation, preferably a native french speaker?

Left my First Job After a Month...Thoughts?

After completing my last internship in October 2025, I had been searching for my first job for six months till I randomly applied to a think tank and got selected. I had heard about its toxicity from random reddit reviews online and when I went to give my interview the questions were very weird " Why not just settle for an Internship here? " What would be your preferred salary?"( they had already disclosed their pay range in the advertisement ), " what does your family do?" along with some relevant questions. All the candidates felt weird there. Nevertheless, I got the highest marks in the interview and I was selected as a Research Assistant. I was elated and so excited for my first job.

The day after signing my contract, I got a heatstroke that would not subside. The next day I contracted allergy conjuctivitus and a few days later I had inexplicable heat rashes all over my body. That never happened before. Now, ofcourse it wasnt due to my job but it seemed like my bad luck started since I joined that job. I knew it would be stressfull and toxic but I was confident it would be a learning experience. It was...just not in the way I imagined.

I soon discovered my role was barely about research and more about event management and I was chosen as an emcee for the event because I was "beautiful". On top of it, there was no HR or IT department because of budget constraints. It wasnt like this was a startup- this was under the patronage of the govermment. We were supposed to design posters, make graphics, conduct and edit our own podcast videos on top of managing events. " Research" meant writing 800-1000 words article from newspaper sources, without any data analysis.

There was no guidance or patience from our seniors in the same job role or our boss. It was heavily implied how replaceable we are and especially since they were paying us above minimum wage. Instead of helping out, a particular senior would magnify and highlight my 'mistakes'. Some of us were asked to handle catering, some others vendoring and I was asked to handle the emcee script. None of this seemed like the job of a Research Assistant. I had no coordination with the emcee and after the event, me and another RA were terminated immediately.

The other RA used to actually pick fights, turn up in casual clothing and arrive late, so his termination did not come as a shock, but they had no solid reason for me. No one seemed to have a reason but a guy in the senior management vouched for me and I was reinstated the next day. That guy told me they routinely fire people if they are even slightly displeased or they want to hire one of their own, since we are on probation now. I was literally fired and hired again in the matter of 18 hours. This happened within 20 days of my joining

I was humiliated and completely demotivated to work there. Everyone in my office knew about my termination. When I was reinstated I actually lashed out at the senior management about my arbitrary termination and since they still kept me, I thoughts things would change. Wrong. I had a podcast with a speaker and her video froze, and all the blame was put on me to 'fix' this from both the speaker and my boss. They told me to put some graphics matching what the speaker was saying in the video, covering the frozen screen of the speaker but this felt like a huge task. My boss shouted at me and told me I should have worked on the weekend to fix this and to do it asap. To fix it, I paid out of my pocket to a video editor to do something about the video. He lip synced the frozen half of the video to the part which was not frozen. Now my mistake was that I was in a hurry to send the video to my boss and did not watch the whole video. My boss noticed parts where the speakers mouth was closed but the audio was playing and told me to edit it further and to also remove any background noise.

That kind of made me want to quit on the spot, I knew she was making things hard for me. She had already hired of her students as a RA and probably wanted me gone so she could hire one more. I was sick on the day I finally made up my mind to quit once and for all, and everyone noticed but my boss. I had a cold and my eyes were watering while my boss kept shouting at me to again prepare an emcee script, a PPT and emcee an upcoming seminar, without any guidance. My friends at work were discouraging me to quit and told me to be resilient like they were as getting another job is very hard. I knew how hard getting another job was and how quitting after a month would look on my CV. But I had made up my mind because I felt zero happiness at work or when my salary was credited in my bank account. So what was my point?. So I did not tell anyone, I gathered my things from my desk, submitted my ID card and walked away. I blocked my boss and resigned.

Now I am jobless and torn about my decision but I feel relieved.

I am not new to Indian mutual funds but I am completely new to the U.S market. I have started my first job and I want to start a SIP in S&P index ( not individual stocks, only index). I want a hassle free way of investing and so I was thinking of the Mirae Asset S&P 500 Top 50 fund. However, I want to know if there are considerable drawbacks that I have not noticed with this fund and if it is too volatile. Please advise, thanks!

Risk Appetite- aggressive

Goal- General saving

Horizon- Not sure right now but atleast 5-10 years, with possibility of further extension

Allocation-SIP

Reason for Fund- One of the few s&p index funds available on Groww

App Used- Groww

I am still early in this journey but what I basically did was get into water color painting, writing, sports and anything that would require me to put my phone down. I use candlelight meditation to increase concentration and timers on my phone to stop myself from opening social media. I also followed a youtubers advice to stare at a wall for 10 minutes without phone ( increasing the time gradually) and let yourself get bored, along with avoiding multitasking. Does anyone have anymore helpful advice to add?
