Been trying to find it for days using circus/unsettling this that but cant find it??!?!??

I know they arent BDFBs but they are also desert beetles with similar care, right? I have four Smooth Pinacate (i think) and 1 Diabolical Ironclad. Any tips?

I have never seen or gotten a weevil before even though I hunt bugs regularly and just dont know what im doing wrong. I live in california, and just cant... find any weevils. Is there any way to hunt? I have hunted at night, searched acorns, done so much, and have never seen a snoot and boots in person.

Does anybody have any advice? I caught two wild pinacate beetles and want to keep them. I have experience with tenebrio molitor beetles and have kept them successfully for a while now. From what I heard they are almost the same for care... any tips? My grandparent's house has tons of them so I can find them pretty easily...

Update: I found 2 more and a diabolical ironclad. I have 4 pinacate and an ironclad. this is awesome!

I cant find an exact date anywhere but I have heard the date January 28, 2019 thrown around sometimes and other dates too. I know they announced his death in 2019 but he might have not died on the day the post was made. Can anyone help? I want to be able to mark this day on my calender to honor him.
