Atacama Copper GV60 Performance spot

Went out of my way to get a slice of the best coconut cream pie in Los Angeles, from Apple Pan.

As luck would have it, there was an open parking spot, right behind what I thought was a ‘Rose’ colored GV60 P. Turns out it’s Atacama Copper. A very beautiful color in person.

Battery clipper advice please?

I’m new and I’m struggling with thick, curly doodle coats. I purchased a corded Wahl KM10+ (10blade), the Wahl comb attachments and it works ok but the cord gets in the way and I can spook sensitive or nervous dogs. I heard the 30 blade was a better option (Wahl) but it kept clogging so I’m back to the 10.

Coat is always, clean, conditioned, dry and I’ll use a tropiclean detangler spray.

I was thinking of getting a battery clipper like the Wahl KMC+ or the Heiniger Opal, to me they are expensive.

I’d like to hear opinions on the clippers, can I use the Wahl guards on the Opal? Should I keep the 10 blade under the guard or also get a 30?

I have a 5 in 1 Wahl for the paws/santi work.

HELP, veneer repair.

So, we have a custom bar area with black wooden pieces. The veneer on the base board has been stained with a semi gloss top spray. The people who created are all gone.

I was cleaning and I chipped this off moving too quickly with a microfiber towel. It grabbed the edge and tore this veneer off.

My wife sits across from this piece and looks directly at it and can now see this issue. She is not pleased.

I have 1 shot at repairing this and I’m looking for some help. It’s vertical so the glue would need to be thicker, the finish is a semi gloss so I can’t really sand it after the repair. I know it won’t be 100% and when I used a black touch up marker (that has worked on solid wood cabinet doors touch ups) just soaks into the underlying wood and isn’t color fast. There might be a small edge around the repair.

Am I painting glue on the base board and carefully placing the chip on and using blue tape to hold it in place? I have gorilla gel and I was thinking of using it, but how to I keep it in place, rubber gloves? What do I wipe excess away with if I apply to much? Would wood clue stick to the glue used on the chip? I’m afraid of sanding the chip’s glue as I don’t want to damage the chip and leave a repair gap.

I’m looking for help with woodworking and also looking to save my marriage too :)

Thank you

RFP Guidance

I’ve always created an executive brief on why we are bidding on the RFP and sent that off to the executives who are sponsoring the project. Then shared the RFP document with the technical team , PM and Engineer leader in this case.

It’s a software tool consolidation play seemingly lead from the engineering teams and we aren’t incumbent so I wasn’t there when it was created. They are using old tech and are looking for something that is more unified and proactive, vs reactive. I’m looking to get a seat at the table and not just to be used as a bargaining chip for an incumbent.

Any thoughts and guidance how I might proceed beyond emailing the executives a brief to get a real shot at this?

Thanks.

For those who need to hear this. Get thick tape + gel pads

Don’t be cheap like me. Don’t wait for a few years for the giant stock tape to fray. Go out and buy thick gravel tape and gel pads.

I landed on Zipp Course tape and Fizik gel pads. Life changing. Big hands, thin bar and thin tape always felt uncomfortable.

This section has been graded recently but the hard pack was killing me for years.

Feels like a new bike, amazing.

Do it

GV60 cracked glass roof

Has anyone had their GV60 roof crack? It started near the edge and it’s hard to say if there was a small impact or not. I’m in the Los Angeles area and haven’t had the best luck with dealers. California so no glass coverage.

Car parts reimbursement?

I pic up a Luxury SUV rental for the week. Black and black and the car seemed ok, smelled slightly. I drive it home, AC barely works and it’s going to be 90s all week. I didn’t have time to return the car.

I pull the cabin air filter, black, engine air filter, packed, it’s down 1 quart of oil. Car is 47,000 miles and it seems nothings been maintained.

I bought a quart of oil, both air filters. Smell is gone and the AC worked much better.

Any thoughts on if I bring in the old parts, receipt if the manager would reimburse me?

Jacking up GV60 P ?

I’m looking to rotate tires on my Genesis GV60 performance. Is there a simple way to jack up the car to rotate the tires? I have a large jack and flat top jack stands.

Also, thoughts on replacing gear oil for the motors? Time vs mileage? Thx

UniFi Protect Doorbell Lite 3d sign?

Has anyone made or found a 3D printed sign that clips onto the Doorbell lite?

I have the angle attachment and this doesn’t look good, falls off and gets ruined with rain and leaf blower.

Thank you

Split beam Icon vs Tekton

I’m not a ITC member and really need to refresh my torque wrenches. I do not do engine work but lugs, suspension work, finer work with aluminum bolts and blocks. I don’t have reverse threads and +90 I’d just use a marker paint

My eyes are going and would benefit from something easier to read. Norbar clickers seem easy to read but the Icon and Tekton split beams, 3/8 and 1/2 seem to really do the trick. I can’t afford digital. Any thoughts on which to get? I’m based in the USA.

Replacement foam?

Can someone recommend heat resistant foam for under the engine beauty cover? I’m based in the US. It’s breaking down and no longer sticks to the plastic.

Small coolant leak, OFHG?

2012 bmw 335i convertible, N55, 70,000 has a very slow coolant leak. You can smell the antifreeze outside the car. Expansion tank replaced and return hose (tank split/hose crumbled). No visible leaks and I did a pressure test last year with no positive results.

I put in 1/2 bottle of harbor freight leak finder UV coolant dye and ran the car hot. To me it seems like there is a small amount of dye mist on top of the alternator area.

I plan on jacking the car, removing the under pan and looking at the water pump / thermostat area this weekend and around the radiator.

I could do the OFHG, I don’t want to proactively change water pump / thermostat, I have the Mickey Mouse aluminum flange and top radiator hose.

I’d like to get your thoughts, wife’s car, so cal so super clean and she plans on keeping it for many more years.

If yes on the OFHG, I need to prime the engine before starting. Am I pulling a fuse, running car dead? Which one? Am I pulling 5 or all 6 plugs and ‘starting the car 3 times’ to circulate the oil? A simple doc would be helpful. If yes to water pump/thermostat, I was going with fCP euro PIERBURC metal water pump.

Thanks
