Do you have knitting projects you wasn't interested in before, but saw an item which you liked so much you have to make it?

For me it's socks. I never, ever thought I'm gonna knit socks. Too fiddly, yarn and needles so tiny and thought I'm never have the courage to wear them (afraid to ruin them), so why bother.

But then I saw the herding cats socks by Stone Knits and I want them. I want them on my foot right now, I want 50 pairs of them, I wanna be buried in them they're so cute!

Now I'm learning to knit my first vanilla socks and it's going... not well, but going. After that I need to learn stranded colourwork and then I'm going to attempt the cat socks!

Finished this little bear

First time making knitted amigurumi. It has many flaws, but I think it's not bad.

Finished this baby blanket

It's far from perfect, but it was a good practice. I don't think I'm gonna give it to anybody... It looks too... Homemade.

Buying old Pfaff sewing machine

Hi everybody!

I found 2 oldish Pfaff machines. I don't know exactly how old are these, but one labeled as "made in west Germany" so it's at least 36 years old.

Can someone help me what is the difference between the two and which one a total beginner should buy?

Pfaff Hobbymatic 919

Pfaff Tipmatic 1045

Both of them is in a pretty good shape. I want to use them to make bed covers, shirts, bags, sewing backing on some knitted baby blankets and repairing clothes.

Thank you in advance!

Do you count slipped selvedge stitches?

Sorry if it's a silly question...

I casted on 118 stitches. Do I need to add +2 if I want to slip every first stitch to make a nicer edge? I'm using garter stitch for the edging. I slip purlwise every first stitch, but knit the last.

It shouldn't matter I suppose and I'm worrying about nothing, but just wandering what is a correct way in this instance.

How's my baby blanket look so far? Pls be honest

I'm at work atm and forgot to take a pic of the back... But I'm planning to sew a backing on it anyway.

I'm gonna double stitch some sheep on it after the knitting is finished.
