Moved from Neon.tech to Hetzner CX22, It's very slow..

Hello

I moved my postgres from Neon tech to Hetzners CX22, my website is basically a statistics website where it gets most information from another source.

However, it is incredibly slow after still trying to adjust the settings to make the search function faster as well as showing the information when going to different pages on the website.

Any idea what I can do?

I switched to CachyOS then switched back..

Hello,

Before I start with my wall of text, I just want to say that I believe CachyOS is a superior distro than what current Windows 11 is. It is snappier, it is sexier, it is less telemetry.

It took me about 2 hours to completely set up CachyOS when I switched to it, mostly because I had to fix the SSDs first so they could work, then I had to run a bunch of installations through CachyOS own CMD called Konsole.

I honestly loved the distro but I still dislike the fact how setting up Linux is just a hassle, you technically have to have a basic understanding of working in terminal and remembering the inputs, such as sudo pacman, etc.

I believe Linux can be superior to what Windows is today, but then improvements needs to be made, so the end user doesn't have to feel like a hacker when they need to install basic stuff. On Windows, it just works.

Why did I switch back?

I am heavily dependent on different software such as PEACE for equalizer and Voicemeeter to sadly make my already expensive microphone sound better. While there are alternative software available on Linux, they sadly broke more often than I cared to troubleshoot.

The end user wants to Troubleshoot once, or set it up once and be done with it. For most people this might be the case. But for me it became more like a damn chore.

Do I recommend CachyOS?

Yes, but if you're prepared to spend some time to set it up for your needs and is prepared for when shit breaks, because when it breaks, be prepared to spend between 1 minute and 1 hour to troubleshoot the issue.

Linux is the future, but it has a long way to get there.

Discords potential GDPR problem

Hello,

I am an owner of a fairly big discord server. I just recently recognized an issue that has come to my attention that Discord *might* not follow GDPR completely. When a discord user gets deleted and they get removed from the server, the Discord bots such as Carl bot and Dyno can still tie the messages to the specific user.

Although the username says "Deleted User#0000", the messages itself can have identifiable information and be tied to the specific user.

This is not an issue with the bots as they get their information from Discords API.

With that being said, I don't think Discords API is fully compliant with GDPR, please correct me if I'm wrong?

For instance with Dyno bot, you can basically "jump to the message" and when you get to that specific message, it says Deleted User, but the message is still there.

Hello

So my latest purchase was a Fold 7 and I absolutely love it, the honeymoon phase isn't over yet whereas on many phones it has been like after a few weeks at most.

But it also made me think.. Is this really peak smartphone now? People don't seem to get hyped about smartphones anymore like before.

Do you think we have reached peak?

Hi, I didn't have the full attention of the game where Robertsson went against Higgins, did they actually pause the game because there was a crowd member with a breathing aid machine that was too loud?

Hello!

I was not happy with going to different websites to check different kind of statistics and how well the games was doing, or if they were a total shame in regards to how many players the game loses.

So I wanted to combine the two websites, but also show estimated FPS you get for each game.

I also track how bad a game is doing in Hall of shame. Let me know what you think.

I am very happy with the current development of this and I have an idea to add a "Streamer" tab in the future so streamers can see which games to stream and if they are relevant.
