One theory I have is Cath asks Lancelot to give up the Lake to save Guin.

The reason why people think it is forced is due to them not meeting/talking that much and Lancelot just all of a sudden falling over heels for her.

The Answer: Most people are used to the normal anime relationship when they knew each other since they were young or they knew each other for many years then they get together. But if you were to look at the realistic stand point most people that get together never knew each other for that long.

There's also the other side that people just fall in love faster. The kiss was the activation for this.

In conclusion, it's not about how they got together it's how they process when they are together.

The first time we see Lancelot he's this cool stoic guy.
It looks like he doesn't have emotions or he doesn't like to show his emotions.

When Guinevere got introduced that's where we finally see Lancelot crack or feel more human. Most of the things Lancelot has done post timeskip was for Guinevere. For example the reason Lancelot went home was for Guinevere. This lead to Lancelot showing his emotions to his Dad and him feeling sorry for what he did in the past 2 years and him telling his Dad what happened during the lost time.(Which improved his development and writing) (He also learned Zero sign)

Even when it came to Lancelot going to save Guinevere from Camelot this led to Lancelot giving the people of Camelot the teleportation thing which was able to move the plot further.

Even rn when Lancelot was blaming Arthur and Merlin for their past actions the main reason he went against them wasn't due to what they did to others but it due to what Cath did to Guinevere. Which once again was able to elevate Lancelot character and increase his developments that even Tristan was able to notice and see this was not normal for Lancelot to act this way. (Showing Lancelot was acting out of love)

Even Merlin notices this and calls him precarious which is linked to him being unstable and that is all due to Lancelot's emotions.

Another thing I like is how Lancelot tries to deny his emotions every time but sometimes it just slips out.

SO just to make it short Guinevere makes Lancelot feel more human (Instead of this stoic guy) due to him having feelings for her which makes him mentally weak for her. (Which I love)

The only thing I don't like is the age. Even if you think he's 15 or 18 or both it's still weird. Nakaba could have easily made both of them 18 like he did to the rest of them..... But it's Nakaba and us asking for that would be too much.......

What if the chapter is about Lancelot telling everyone what happened during those years within the lake like he told Ban. But instead of a long flashback like last time it just gets shorten doesn to 3 pages.... Like a summary
