Getting back into reading after a long break- need recommendations + where do you buy books?

Sooo I used to read a lot, but I kind of fell out of the habit for the past year due to school work. Now I really want to get back into reading and build the habit again.

I have two questions:

-Where do you usually buy books in India? I'm looking for places that offer a good balance of price and quality (online or offline). I've heard about places like Bookchor and second-hand bookstores, but I'd love to know what you all recommend.

-What books should I start with? I'm genuinely open to almost any genre, fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, thrillers, classics, historical fiction, non-fiction, memoirs... pretty much anything if it's a great read.

I'd especially appreciate books that are hard to put down and can help me fall in love with reading again.

Thanks in advance!

Psych students in Delhi NCR?

Hi! I'm considering applying to CHRIST Delhi NCR for Psychology. I'd love to hear from current students, especially if you're in BA Psychology about the course, faculty, and overall experience. Thanks :)

Christ University (Pune and Delhi campus)?

Hey everyone, since I missed the Bangalore campus deadlines, I am looking at Christ University Delhi NCR and Pune Lavasa campuses for their Psychology programs. My ultimate goal is to move abroad for my Master’s degree after graduation. Given this, I’d love to get insights from current students or alumni on both campuses. Thanks in advance!

Sgrr Pathri Bagh?

Anyone here from SGRR College or know someone who studies there?

I'll most likely be joining for BA (Hons.) Psychology this year. Before anyone asks why SGRR, long story short, it's the only option I've got right now 😭 so please don't roast me or ask me to pick another college.

I'm hoping to give CUET next year and maybe switch if things work out, but for now I'll probably have to spend at least a year there.

So... how is it actually? Faculty? Psychology department Crowd? Attendance? Overall college life? Anything I should know before joining?

I'm not going in with huge expectations, just want some honest reviews from people who've actually been there.

Thanks :)

I’m an international student trying to finalize between college options, and I’m struggling to understand how they compare in real outcomes (not just rankings).

My intended field is neuroscience (not pre-med at the moment).

The options I have that somewhat make sense:

- University of St. Thomas (Minnesota)- honors program as well- $39k/yr

- Augustana College (Illinois)- $28-30k/yr

(University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) (awaiting decision but not sure if it'll be before commitment day)

I’m trying to evaluate them based on real student experience, not brochures. You know if a school has better value but more money I think it should be worth it.

Specifically, I would really appreciate input on:

- How strong are these schools for neuroscience/biology research exposure and faculty access?

- How different is opportunity access between these cities?

- For international students, how realistic are internships/research opportunities during undergrad?

- Is there a meaningful difference in reputation or area in general for opportunities between St. Thomas and Augustana, or are they fairly similar?

I am just looking for honest comparisons based on experience or knowledge.

Any insights would be really appreciated :)

I’m an international student planning to major in neuroscience (not pre-med path) and deciding between two offers:

  1. University of St. Thomas

-Admitted to Aquinas Scholars Honors Program

-Estimated cost: ~$36,000/year

-Located in/near a major metro area

  1. Augustana College

-Estimated cost: ~$28–30K/year

-Has a neuroscience program (major declared in second year)

-Smaller college, less familiar to me

What matters most to me:

-Research opportunities in neuroscience

-Access to internships (during college, not just after graduation)

-Surroundings/environment (things to do, safety, access to opportunities)

- I understand cost is an important factor, however, I’m trying to evaluate whether the higher cost at University of St. Thomas is justified in terms of better research opportunities, and overall exposure.

My questions:

-Which college offers better real opportunities for research + internships?

-How important is location for getting internships and exposure?

-Which place has a better overall environment for 4 years (social life, things to do, student life)?

-Any honest experiences from students would really help :)
