Ares Down - Sabotage Mystery on Mars

I've been building a digital board game called Ares Down, a turn-based strategy game on Mars that plays like Catan meets Clue. Build routes, claim resources, investigate facilities, and solve a three-part sabotage mystery. 2-4 players, solo vs AI or online multiplayer. 150 randomized solutions per match.

Playable free in browser: https://aresdown.buildingrome.dev/

Beta on iOS/iPad and Android/tablet. Message me for a link.

Built it myself based on my love of games and building. Would love feedback from this community (gameplay, balance, UI, whatever stands out).

I kept reaching for my phone, so I built a simple way to stop

I know Grit-Lock is not the first app built to reduce phone distractions.

I made it because I wanted something simple and intuitive that I would actually use. I kept reaching for my phone first thing in the morning, between sets at the gym, and whenever I needed to focus.

Grit-Lock lets you schedule “shields” that block selected apps for a set window or until you complete a workout.

Still improving it, so honest feedback is welcome. What would make something like this useful to you?

Who’s hungry?

Found this at a darling little pizza/italian joint in Alexandria VA, Stracci! Check it out if you’re ever there.

Oh they knew alright!

My first customer & first game release in the same week

I just released my first game, Crater Hop! It’s a simple space themed endless runner with alien smashing, power ups, and bosses along the way. It started out as a way to test my ability to make a game that was simple but fun—something I’d actually play as a break from coding nonstop.

This is actually my third app, and I decided to wait until both the Android and Apple versions were approved instead of piecemealing it. I’ve grown accustomed to releasing Apple first, because for some ungodly reason it’s simpler.

As I got to the in app purchase portion of the build, to my surprise as I pulled up Revenue Cat, there it was. A sweet sweet $15 in my account. My first instinct was it was a mistake! lol. But I checked the logs and someone paid for an annual membership for my credit card perks app. Needless to say I was ecstatic! It really did make my day. I also was surprised to see people are actually downloading my apps!

I have a full time job, coding is fun, I enjoy building. I’m like many of you. My advice: keep doing the thing. Do it even if others don’t support you or understand your passion. One day, something awesome like this will happen to you. It’s like a terrible round of golf. One miraculous shot will bring you back for the next round. By no means has my journey been bad but it was a little slice of added motivation nonetheless.

Apps for reference:
Salute to Suit
Perky
Crater Hop

I thought I I’d share what I’ve been working on.

Delta-V Academy teaches orbital mechanics through a live 3D sim in the browser. No install, no sign-in, free. Goal is a tool for kids and adults who want to learn about space without needing a university degree or a software license.

I’ve been building this solo for the past week and wanted to share progress.

Delta-V Academy teaches orbital mechanics through a live 3D sim in the browser. No install, no sign-in, free. Goal is a tool for kids and adults who want to learn about space without needing a university degree or a $10k software license.

What’s in it:

•	10 lessons from orbit basics to SSA architectures, each with 3 difficulty levels (novice / intermediate / advanced)

•	Real constellations: GPS, Starlink, Molniya, GEODSS, DARC, LeoLabs, Globus II and more

•	AI Mission Architect: describe a satellite scenario in plain English, Gemini generates it live

•	Mission replays: Apollo 11 TLI, ISS rendezvous, JWST cruise to L2

Stack: Next.js 15 / Three.js / Zustand / Gemini 2.5 Flash / PostHog / Vercel

Current status: Beta. Analytics wired, mobile responsive. No auth, no payments yet. AI Architect still needs refinement.

Would love feedback from anyone willing to play with it. Especially useful: anyone who actually knows orbital mechanics and can point out where the physics falls short.
