In my opinion, the writing for Jinrang and Jake when they attained their conviction was far better than it was for Gapryong.

Take Jinrang, for instance: he went through a grueling process—fighting all the First Generation Kings and receiving counsel from Jichang Kwak—before finally awakening his power upon seeing Jungseok and Baeksang injured by oh dalyoung.

Gimyung also endured a difficult journey to gain his conviction while battling Samuel, Sinu, and potentially Jinyoung; even then, he had to undergo training with Jinrang just to master it.

Contrast that with Gapryong, who gained his conviction and overcame obstacles with the ease of a shonen protagonist, simply because of the sentiment: "I want to change the world."
