Could you you help find some sugar free places in Frankfurt?
I’d really appreciate it if you could watch this video. You don’t need to subscribe, the most important thing is watching it until the end(and give a like , optional). I’m researching the idea of a “shadow ban” on YouTube and trying to understand how real it is and whether it’s possible to recover from it. The last stage of my experiment is testing what happens when a video suddenly gets attention from viewers outside of the channel’s usual audience. I’d be very grateful if you supported the experiment. The content is 2D animation, not AI-generated. I animate in Moho Pro. I’ll share the results of the experiment afterward.
After testing things on 3 different channels, I think the shadow ban is real. But it’s probably not what people think it is.
I have, one channel with 20k subscribers, one with 6k and a third channel I created only for experiments. At some point, my first two channels completely died. I could barely get 100 views on Shorts. The weird part was not just low views , YouTube simply stopped testing my videos in the Shorts feed. And before someone says “your content is bad” the same videos get good views on TikTok. So this made me start digging deeper.
First i started a new channel. Because I already had successful channels before, I had a LOT of ready content. So I started scheduling videos in advance. When I uploaded around 10 videos on Sunday and scheduled them through the week everything was fine. But one time I uploaded around 30 videos at once and scheduled a whole month ahead. Right after that, views collapsed.
Not just views, the videos were not even getting pushed into recommendation/testing anymore. That’s when I started thinking: Maybe the algorithm sees massive activity in one day as spam behavior. And if YouTube thinks you’re a spammer, it quietly puts your channel into a low-priority state. No warning. No message. Your videos just stop getting tested.
I repeated similar behavior across 3 channels and saw very similar results.
So my advice is:
If you run a channel, think about what actions might make the algorithm see you as spam.
Now I’m running another experiment.
I want to know if external engagement can “wake up” a frozen channel again.
My theory is:
If people manually watch, like, and share a video that YouTube ignored, maybe the algorithm starts trusting the channel again.
So I need your help for science.
Please watch my video(I'll put link on comments) , leave a like (no need to subscribe), and maybe send it to a friend.
I want to see if human activity can restart Shorts feed testing again.
Did anyone else notice something similar on their channels?
