I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar II for over a decade, and had a really rough time early in my diagnosis. It took a while to find the right medication cocktail for me, but when I did, it was life changing. I finally felt like I had control of my life. My depressive episodes were rare, I had steady motivation to go to work and pursue education, and I hardly had any angry/emotional outbursts.
Fast forward almost a decade, and out of nowhere, I feel unmedicated and out of control again. The outbursts are back, I’m spending weeks at a time in bed, I can’t hold a conversation with my partner without crying at some point for no reason(we have a wonderful healthy relationship and this is not normal).
All of the sudden I feel like I’m that scared confused lonely person who doesn’t recognize their own thoughts or actions, I feel like I’m in the headspace I was last time I was institutionalized. Luckily this time there are NO thoughts of self harm, but I don’t want to risk this spiral continuing.
I’ve moved a lot in the past decade and didn’t have a steady psychiatrist or therapist in a few years, and I’m finally pushing myself to get set up with a new psych team. I have an appointment this week, and while I’m eager to get shit back on track, I’m really not looking forward to trying new med cocktails or explaining my brain to two new people. But the alternative is….rot. And I’m not going to do that.
For context I’m 32 and was diagnosed at 21. I don’t know what advice I’m looking for, or if I’m just trying to vent, or if anyone out there can relate. I’m particularly curious if any older folks out there who have dealt with this a while have any helpful tips.
The struggle is real and endless, but so is our perseverance. I’m trying not to lose mine.
I posted in here about a month ago when I started my mural, which I decided to paint because I couldn’t find a wallpaper that fit what I had in mind for my bathroom. Here are some progress pictures for you ladies. Still a long way to go (oh and the firefly’s butt glows in the dark!)
I’m in the process of finishing my bathroom (the house was bought unfinished, this is the last room to do) and I’m doing a woodland/forest theme. I wanted to do an accent wall of floral/mushroom wallpaper, but didn’t find anything that fit what I had in mind. So I’m adding more stress to my life by painting it on myself. Wish me luck, ladies 🫡 I’ll post updates if they’re wanted
I was moving some stuff into my garage the other night and noticed these lights. The camera dulled the color a bit but they were BLUE in person. Rotated in the clouds and started expanding and collapsing in side for about 5 minutes, then disappeared.
I checked the local Facebook groups to see if there were any events in town that may have used a spotlight(though it appeared as though the light was coming from above/through the cloud, not below it)- sports games, concerts, maybe even something to do with the regional airport.
As far as I’ve found, there were no such events taking place that night, and no one else in the area happened to see them(besides my partner and friend who were with me at the time). Even if they were spotlights, having them on for 5 minutes at 11pm on a Sunday seems strange. And it appeared as though the light was coming from inside/above the clouds, not below them. I’ve seen my fair share of spotlights and this did not resemble them.
Anyone have any idea what this could be?
Also wanted to add that I’ve seen some strange red orbs and other strange things in this area of the horizon.
