Mid-Stay Status change advice

I'm about to book some nights and see that I'll get to the next status level during my stay. Will the new benefits kick in mid stay, if not, should I break my stay into two reservations with the first one ending after I qualify and the second beginning with the new status?

Has anyone experienced this? This started in the last month or so and would happen once every couple of days. There would be a lag from when I hit the power button to wake up the phone. It would stay black and then maybe one app icon would appear but the rest of the screen stays black. Then, it would take a couple of seconds then wake up, sometimes. Sometimes, it would stay like that and not change or go back to black and I would hit the power button to wake it up. It makes me nervous that it is crashing. I keep my apps and the phone up to date on updates. I restart my phone whenever I finish updates. Something else has started recently, I think especially with Instagram - it would just close the app. I have about 50% storage available so I do not think it is that. Thanks!

I have a 1.5h connection from a BKK-LAX flight to a LAX-SFO flight today. I understand that's a bit tight, especially if the BKK-LAX flight is delayed. I booked this ticket on the United website and this is the flight it gave me. Should I actually miss my connection which is the last LAX-SFO flight of the day, will United provide accommodations or will I need to figure something out myself. Thanks!

I am arriving from Thailand on a UA flight arriving at 8pm and transferring without luggage to a SFO flight on UA departing at 10pm. Since I'm going through immigration and customs, I'm wondering if that's going to be tight. I imagine I'll need to run from one terminal to another. Thanks!
