As somebody (47f) suffering from constant pain, I will try anything for some form of relief. Balms like these calm the brain down a little from the pain with a distraction. Like the nerves are at the spa.

As I was perusing the aisles, I saw this Delon Blue Ice Rub tub, & for $2 I absolutely had to try it.

Delon is actually a Canadian company based in Québec that makes a line of Blue Ice products as well as many other items. The medicinal ingredient in this analgesic rub, topical gel is 2% l-menthol, which Health Canada suggests provides temporary relief of aches, & pains of muscles, & joints. Particularly for. simple backache, lumbago, strains/sprains, & arthritis.

Health Canada also provides a product warning that some users might experience hypersensitivity, rash, & burning discomfort. They go on to say serious burns can occur, particularly if there is pain, swelling or blistering. Use sparingly. Just start with a tiny dab on an innocuous location, so as to not put yourself through any more torture!

I myself have fibromyalgia.
I did not experience any adverse side effects.

With both my hands, I simply dabbed the pads of all my fingertips in to get the smallest amount on each of them—this helps me spread it out easily over a difficult to reach area . Then reaching around to my sore lower to middle back, & spreading it out with my gooey fingers. I applied a decent amount to cover the area, but I did not slather it on heavy by any means. One should always exercise caution with these Icy Hot type products regardless of warnings, & ingredients. Your body can react unpredictably.

Initially nothing happened. I was bummed. Figured it was only two bucks, so I was moreso disappointed for my back, not my coin purse.

Then maybe like 5 minutes later it started to work! It gives a nice soothing tingly freezing burning sensation. Totally normal user experience. Rather pleasant.

& it works!

Having used it numerous times by this point in order to do a thorough review, I will often apply it to my lowest to middle back myself, & then sit in my chair to take a rest with my heating pad on my back. Paradise.

As anybody with pain knows, these therapeutic salves are not cures; however, when you are suffering you will try anything for a reprieve.🏝️

Despite being a menthol-based product, the aroma really is not overpowered. In fact, it is quite light. Hardly bothersome, or making you a walking odour bomb like tiger balm. The consistent of the product is not sticky at all. It is very nice, & sproingy like a soothing aloe vera.

*Important reminder of instructions for use: always wash your hands afterward!! It burns when it is in the eyes, & it tastes gross when in the mouth. Don’t ask how I know that.

Okay, back it up to the beginning: previously, I had posted about picking up 4/5 of the hair masks from this line, but had not tried the yellow one yet. Today I used it on my reasonably thick, medium length, wavy-when-wet-drying-to-straight hair.

Each mask has its own fragrance (glycolic smells a bit like grandpa aftershave—in a good way) based on the ingredients, so the keratin, & castor oil smell reminds me a little bit of my grandma. But in a good way! She used to keep castor oil in her medicine cabinet for applying to her eyelashes, eyebrows, & her hair. Something she had done since the 1920s.

Essentially, castor oil is the main ingredient, so it just smells like castor oil. Just a heads up, though, for those who may not appreciate carrying around fragrance for a while. I could see how that might bother somebody who is sensitive to scents. It could almost be worth it to follow up with another mask, or conditioning product to rinse out if you are able.

So, while it isn’t my favourite odour it is not as though I disliked the smell per se; however, some folks may not like it.

BUT, this one has made my hair so much thicker than the others, & I do have some moderately thick hair to begin with. It’s kind of astounding me how thick my hair is right now. If that’s what you’re looking for, the yellow one is my recommendation for you. My hair is also more wavy, too, which I’m loving since it normally dries mostly straight. Keratin, & castor oil putting in the work, & delivering. Honestly my hair is incredibly thick right now, I actually said like wow.

Felt as though this was worthwhile information sharing because I know a lot of people struggle with thinning hair, & often look for solutions.

Caution to scent sensitive people.

In my area, only 1/4 nearby stores carry the NULOX hair masks, sadly the furthest one, but it was worthwhile.

For $2.25, I thought I would give the Beauty Impressions Lip & Cheek Tint — Bouncy Jelly Formula a try. Part of my daily look makeup routine involves staining my lips so they look consistently pink all over as parts of them are a bit washed out. I just want them to look like they are my naturally flush pink lips all day, through meals, drinking water, etc

The texture sure is a bouncy jelly, it’s so sproingy 😂 Some people might not like the texture. Used it on my lips sparingly in a dabbing motion then blending followed up with some Blistex DCT lip balm (also Dollarama); just getting the washed out parts to match the natural pink of my lips. It’s like I was sucking on strawberries~perfect!

It smells amazing!! It lasts very well, just use a light hand!!

They had a light pink, terracotta as well as this deep fuschia shade pictured.

A few weeks ago I spotted the NULOX Hair Masks, & so far I have tried three of them except the yellow one (Keratin & Castor Oil Hair Mask), I got today. They also have a dark pink one for colour/chemical treated hair, which I did not purchase. They are all exceptional so far; my hair has looked its best the last few weeks. So shiny. Healthy. Strong. I can’t wait to try the yellow one next! Out of 4 nearby stores only one carries them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Paul Frank facial wipes with retinol are fantastic as well. They have the retinol in pink packaging pictured here as well as an aloe vera in green packaging, which I did not try only because my skin is older, so I want to use the retinol. My skin feels like it’s a mini facial. I always remove my eye makeup first then use these afterwards to get brows, lingering eye makeup as well as the rest of my face. The size is great so much surface area to use. Very nice smell as well. I liked them so much I bought another today when I bought these other two scores.

I’m a Blistex devotee, & getting the DCT here is a fantastic value! The smell is delicious. My lips are so soft, kissable smooth. The pot will last forever.

Tonight I’m going to use the Glow Up! Foaming Facial Wash in watermelon. They had two other kinds, but I just took a gamble on this one as I was in the mood for something new to try. The packaging of the brand is so eye-catching, & they seem to have lots from the line. Keep you posted.
