Irritated nerve in shoulder for a year, tried physio and its still there. What can I try next?

Hi!

I’ve had an irritated shoulder and neck for a year due to lifting too heavy at the gym (self inflicted I know!) I’ve had 6 months of physio and it’s still there now. I do my physio exercises and it’s still irritated. On top of that I started a new job and was given a work station assessment but my issues are still there. I was given an ergonomic mouse and ergonomic chair with neck support. I’ve tried the ergonomic chair with and without armrests - my shoulder is still irritated.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had tried a sports massage for an irritated nerve in shoulder? if so, did it help and how many sessions did you need?

i’m freaking out about losing my job 😰.

any advice is appreciate.

What is this, has anyone experienced similar?

Hello,

Hope someone can help - sorry for the long ramble.

I have ongoing neck and shoulder issues on my right side that my physiotherapist has identified as nerve irritation caused by lifting excessively heavy weights at the gym. These symptoms have persisted since September 2025. They temporarily improved in March 2026, but after returning to the gym, I reinjured myself. Since then, I have not gone back to the gym. I have been giving a lot of physio exercises and it doesn’t seem to be settling down. I’m at my wits end. I have tingling in my shoulder as well,

In April, I started a new desk-based job with an ergonomic mouse and a workstation assessment. Six weeks into my role, I began experiencing intermittent coldness in my forearm, tingling in my fingers, and a shaking sensation in my hand. the outside bone of my wrist is also sore. all on the same side as my neck and shoulder problems.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what's the treatments or things that can be done to help get rid of it / calm it down?

Does anyone else have coldness in forearm and shakiness in hand?

Hello,

Hope someone can help - sorry for the long ramble.

I have ongoing neck and shoulder issues that my physiotherapist has identified as nerve irritation caused by lifting excessively heavy weights at the gym. These symptoms have persisted since September 2025. They temporarily improved in March 2026, but after returning to the gym, I reinjured myself. Since then, I have not gone back to the gym.

In April, I started a new desk-based job with an ergonomic mouse and a workstation assessment. Six weeks into my role, I began experiencing intermittent coldness in my forearm, tingling in my fingers, and a shaking sensation in my hand—all on the same side as my neck and shoulder problems.

I consulted a physiotherapist at my GP surgery, who only tested my hand strength, which was normal, and suggested FND. I felt this diagnosis was premature and incomplete, as no other parts of my arm were examined. I sought a second opinion from a doctor yesterday, who reiterated that nothing in my tests indicates coldness or shaking and again mentioned FND. Blood tests for thyroid function have been ordered, as thyroid issues can cause shakiness.

I should cavet this that in July 2023, I’ve experienced tingling sensations throughout my body following COVID-19. Multiple MRIs and blood tests for autoimmune conditions have come back clear. I am also awaiting a nerve conduction study, which has a been 3-4 year wait list (nhs wait times!)

While FND has been suggested by various healthcare providers, the neurologist has not confirmed it. I believe it is irresponsible to label someone with FND without thorough testing. It feels like my concerns are being dismissed and that I am not receiving the full assessment I need.

I am eager to know if others with FND experience coldness in their forearm or hand shakiness.

The question I want to ask my GP but lack confidence in doing so is: if FND isn’t a comprehensive diagnosis, what alternative plans, tests, or diagnoses could address my forearm coldness and shakiness?

I feel frustrated, misunderstood, and let down.

What additional steps can I take? I’ve already tried physiotherapy.

Change of circumstances query

Hi!

I got PIP awarded to 2027 with an extension letter today to 2029.

However, I've had 2 cataract surgeries and only yesterday did I get my laser done. Up until yesterday I was still dealing with glare, haze and blurriness.

I was awarded PIP on the basis of the issues with my cataract. alongside long-standing eye issues and I still use aids and need assistance with things.I also have something called drop attacks linked to migraines.

since the previous review in 2023 I developed long covid and awaiting a nerve conduction test. also, back issues.

I'm aware having cataract surgery is a change in circumstances I should report. But my functional issues remain for everyday living and what my pip award was based on still applies.

however, I don't want to be penalised for not telling them as the surgery is a change of circumstances. I don't want to get to 2029 for them to turn around and say I should've told them.

Does anyone have any guidance or advice?

Revival finale for 2027? 20 year anniversary for OG run

It would be very fitting if there was a finale for 2027, given that it's 20 years since the original ended! I feel so old!
Alexis and Lauren reunited this year at Oscars or Grammys I think - lovely reunion to see. 💜
Would be amazing if it happened?

Shoulder and neck issues ongoing for 9 months help

I joined a gym and September 2025 and didn't something to my neck and shoulder. I was attending a physio and it was starting to turn a corner in March 2026. But, then I was lifting weights at the gym and overdid it - and it was sore again! It was at the top of shoulder and for a few days it felt weak if I was lifting something out of the cupboard for example. That disappeared after a few days. I attended a new physio (it's the NHS in the UK) and was given exercises to do which I did do throughout the day. The last time I seen him my arm was tingling and was given other exercises to do which I did. At the of April I started a new job and now my forearm is cold and tingling in ring finger, middle finger and sometimes pinky. Also, outer wrist is sore. I had a telephone consultation with the physio last week as he had pre arranged the phone call. He didn't seem concerned about the new symptoms and he could only base it on his last assessment. Which I wasn't pleased about as if its new symptoms surely a new assessment wouldve been warranted?! He seems to think it'll be chronic and not settle down.
I have to have hope in that it was starting to settle down in March.?!
The exercises I've been doing are:
- ear to shoulder
Neck turns with a towel
Chin to chest and looking up
Chin tucks
Shoulder rolls
Using a band for shoulder squeezes
Thread the needle

Are there are any other exercises that would help?

Would another physio assessment be justified?

Has sports massage ever helped anyone?

Hello!
Glad I found this subreddit and just finished rewatching AYITL - it was bad as I remember. The control ASP has over the scripts is unnerving. I know she fell out with staff over s7 and didn't watch them - you could tell as AYITL! I seen this on Instagram and a few posts on Facebook but don't know if this is just cruel rumour with no substance.
Thoughts on this clip?
