This place is in a random cornfield in Wellington (it's very easy to miss if you aren't looking for it) and it doesn't get much press, but I think it's an essential visit for anyone in SoFlo.
It costs $25 to a 1-2 hour tour. You get to pet capybaras and goats. Feed lemurs and sloths. They also have cows, goats, turtles and dozens of other exotic animals. The tour guide there is very knowledgeable, and you learn a lot about the animals.
So I've noticed a lot of patterns from the majority of my close friends that I've known since high school and college.
* Heavy gamer
* Mid-30's, lives with parents
* Never had a long-term relationship
* No major career advancement in past 10 years (or chronically unemployed)
* Absent father figure (or a parent died early)
I fit all of that criteria too. (I am improving. I game way less. No more PVP. I've been saving money to move out. I go on a few dates every month.)
I'm not judging them. But it's not really the direction I want for me.
I'm wondering what's causing this correlation. Like people attracting like?
I think the people with career, marriages and other pursuits move on from me, to focus on people with similar goals and ambitions. And the people remaining are the ones similar to me.
Has anyone had a similar experience like this?
I ordered the Hi-Tops in wide-width. I won't use these for sports or running but they are very comfortable. My feet are maybe a fraction of an inch bigger than the midsole, but the bottom is soft, the top is forgiving and the laces tie it all well. No shoe has ever been perfect me. Literally every shoe has some flaw. But these are close to perfection as humanly possible for me.
I'm a size 10.5-11. I ordered 10.5". I'll order 10" on my next pair. They are slightly big but it's not enough of a problem to return it.
I also want to order the low-tops in wide width, and those maybe more accomodating for situations where I need to be more agile.
(Has anyone tried the Chuck 70's wide width? I know the regular width, in my experience felt even tighter than the original, but I haven't tried the width.
The mid-top shoes (Malden), sadly, don't fit. This breaks my heart because they are such beautiful and well cushioned that I'll never be able to wear. They are advertise to have a roomier fit. While it is roomier than the regular Converses, it is extremely tight on my EE feet. Might be doable for E-width though.
I would like to make them like 10% smaller but also denser.
Should I trim to 3mm and use brow filler?
I’d like to make my eyebrows like slightly smaller but also slightly denser.
I have a lot of hair but its not dense.
Should I trim it down to 3mm and then use some browfill or a brow pencil? (i would like to go subtle enough to where it doesnt look like im using prod
Any tips for shaping and plucking?
I lost 120 lbs and have kept it off for 6 years so far. I think one of the biggest things is being willing to be different from social norms.
When I go to social functions, I eat just enough to feel satiated and no more.
I do think there's a culture thing, where you're expected to eat a lot with friends and family. And sometimes losing weight means not going along with what everyone else does.
Examples:
* Sometimes I'll eat most of a meal at a restaurant, but then take 20% of it home. Even if people ask why not just finish it
* ^ Sometimes I'll do the opposite where I only eat a small amount and then save the rest for later when I'm actually hungry.
* Sometimes I'll decline dinner outings with friends and family because I've already eaten most of my calories earlier in the day.
* Sometimes I'll be at a friend's party and eat very small portion sizes. I'm nice about it; I'm clear that I enjoy their cooking but I am watching my calories.
* I don't care if it's Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July I try to keep my portion sizes controlled everyday. I try to keep moderate deficits year round. So that way I'm not starving myself one week, and then binging on Christmas week to compensate.
* I don't care if it's vacation. I still try to eat balanced portion sizes. Maybe I'll only try a few food places per trip, and that's totally okay. (Sometimes I lose a lb or two on vacation because I'm walking around the city all day)
Sometimes people question my metrics, or question how ocd I am about it. But at the end of the day, I'm getting results. (And some of them aren't)
I get a lot of anxiety because I know Im not meant to be where I am but Im so confused on where to go.
I find South Florida too cookie cutter suburban. Very few third places. Everyone kind of feels isolated here.
I want to move to an east coast city.
34M, single, working-class, no kids, no pets.
I will be packing all of my things in a car and driving there.
I care more about location than size of my home. If i can get a semi affordable tiny apartment in a cool area thats great.
Dating is a priority for me. Id like to move to a decently sized place.
My dream place is Boston but the cost of living isn’t doable, and I need to be realistic. Maybe there is a town 20 mins from Boston thats semi affordable? But idk.
My 2 options Im considering
Chicago. For the true big city experience. It has basically everything I want. It is expensive but less than Boston and NY.
Raleigh (maybe Charlotte)? These feel like all rounder cities. Moderate cost of living, weather, things to do.
Im open to other suggestions too.
