An Interesting Glitch

Edit - I did as suggested and looked over all the Connections on the bottom of the Printer. And 1 (the one that attaches to the Gantry) was askew. But fixing it has not resolved my issue. The Printer Booted up fine, so I decided to do another Calibration and it crashed, with the same error as before. Restart by flipping the Switch and it completed Calibration fine. Everything now, is the same as it was before, in regards to the error.

This has happened to me twice now.

The first time it happened was when I first set up my Kobra X.

It did all the things, and then when it came time to do my first Print it just Stopped (seemingly where it is brushing off the nozzle).

I can't remember the error that popped up, but it required Hard Resetting the Printer by flipping the Switch. It has been working great ever since.

Till today that is.

Today I Switched my setup to PETG and I get the same(?) error again and seemingly at the same point in the process. Where it is brushing off the nozzle.

The error description was saying something about loosing connection, and then gives a bunch of possibles...

Anywho, just find it odd that it can Print for days, but the second I change the Filament, I get a repeat error... I will update if it happens during a Filament switch again.

About to try PETG for the 1st time

*Edit: First PETG Print is underway! So far so good.
Thanks for all the Advice. I did a manual purge, as suggested, and then just hit Send... Which seemed to be the most common advice given.

Hi all,

I'm about to try PETG for the 1st time and I was wondering if any experienced users had some tips or tricks to share.

So far Printing PLA has been awesome; just hit Send! I'm just wondering if I can expect similar results from PETG.

Oh and precautions I should take?

Thanks

Is this Normal

Or should I be worried?

This has been happening since I got it about a week ago. And has been this way right out of the Box.

It does make a similar noise when it reaches the end of travel in the other direction as well. But it is not nearly as bad.

Kobra X Camera

Hello,

Is there a way to IP into the Camera Feed? There seems to be zero options to Full Screen or Pan and Zoom via Slicer Next

Kobra X - First time user experience

Hello,

I was super lucky to Win (I've been trying for years) this Kobra X Printer via an Instagram Contest, hosted by endk7designs and anycubicofficial.

I received it a couple days ago, Assembled it last night, and completed the Setup today.

Vid is a 15 minute First Run of the Printer, which you could ignore or skip through. But I'd welcome any thoughts about it. (It took longer than 15 minutes but I cut some of it out.)

First Time, anything Anycubic, User Thoughts:

  • Assembly was super easy
  • I did it without referencing the Manual, but I did read it afterwards to see if I missed anything
  • Which I did before turning it on for the first time.

I had installed the App and Software last night. But when I tried to setup the Printer today, it was somewhat of a nightmare.

  • I could not get the App to connect to the Printer using any method other than using the Cloud Sign In.
  • I had first tried to set it up using what they are calling LAN. But Scanning the QR Code on the Case or the one that comes up on the Display did not work.
  • I was getting all sorts of Popups: From saying the Printer didn't qualify to saying that it worked, when it actually didn't.
  • I tried selecting the option to try a different method and most of them just ended up coming back to Scanning the QR Code.
  • I even consulted the Wiki. But some of the options it was suggesting I could not find on the Printers Options.
  • It was quite discouraging and not a fun experience.
  • I did get the Software to work on the PC, by adding the IP manually, but I did not see that option as available in the APP.

((Also, regarding above - the Website Marketing says
"Dual-Network Support - Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G) + LAN connectivity. Multiple connection options ensure rock-solid file transfers." - Which I think, would lead anyone to believe that this Printer actually has a LAN Network Connection. But there is no LAN Port on the Printer that I can Find, and the only way to connect is via Wireless))

Anyways, I did get connected via the Cloud Option, which was quick and easy by comparison. I will look into doing it, LAN Mode, at a later time.

I was also finally able to update the Firmware.

Few of the other issues I encountered along the way.

  • When I was first trying to insert the Filament, it would not go in. I even tried different Tubes and still nothing. From experience, I knew that maybe I needed to put more of an angle on the Cut to the Filament, and it finally went in.
  • During the struggle though, I did get a Filament Break in the Tube, which I thought was interesting.
  • Also, when the Printer is hitting the Y Limit, it is REALLY hitting the Y Limit. I don't know if it comes across in the Video, because the Power Cord is getting in the way. But I don't think it supposed to be that way.
  • Another thing happened after the Firmware Update. It Occurred when I was Homing via the Software on the PC. I had done this a couple times already, but the last time I was Homing the Z, an Error popped up that required me to Restart the Printer via the Switch to clear it. Neither the PC Software or the App could see the Printer anymore.

And that is where I left it for today, with the exception of playing around with the Software (Slicer Next) for a bit.

  • I was surprised to find out that Anycubic seems to prefer 3mf... All my Files are STL. I can Import my STLs, but Saving as an STL doesn't even seem to be an option.
  • Perhaps I'm missing something
  • I also noticed that even tho I have it set up to include Generic Filaments. The Dropdown Menu seems to be only showing Anycubic for all the PLAs and is only showing Generic for PETG.

Anywho, I'm coming from using an heavily modified Aquila C2, that I Modified so much, only the frame and some of the Motors are OG. I Klipperized it, almost from day one, so it is going to take a bit to get used to the Anycubic Ecosystem.

Otherwise this is a MAJOR upgrade for me. This new Printer Outclasses my Old Printer in almost every way, even after all the Upgrades I had made. I can hardly wait to see how it performs. Thanks so much!

Thoughts or advice for a new Anycubic user are appreciated.

Montech TG3 Review

- I was gifted this Case in exchange for my honest review. -

- Montech has provided no guidance or input of any kind. -

Montage of Montech TG3 Case

Quick Start Guide

Bottom of TG3 with PSU Filter half out

Back-Connect / Reverse-Connector MOBO Tray of TG3

Right Side Internal Space of TG3

(A)RGB Hub(?) TG3 - NOT a Fan Hub

PSU Shroud - Inside TG3

Closeup of Top of TG3

TG3 on its Side with all Panels Removed

Right Side Completed Build of TG3

Front Panel Connectors of TG3

Front of Case with Glass Removed - TG3

Left Side Display - Glass On - TG3

Left Side Display - Glass Off - TG3

The Montech TG3 is a Solid Case with some excellent features for its Price Point.

The Front and Left Side are Removable Glass and the Top acts as a Removable Filter. Tho the Filter is permanent and not removable.

It can accommodate:

  • 2x 2.5" HDDs or 1x 3.5" HDD or a Combo of the 2 (1x 2.5" and 1x 3.5")

It comes with:

  • 4x Fans (1x back Fan and a Single 3x mono Fan on the Right Side.
  • 1x ARGB Hub with only 3 RGB Connectors It is NOT a Fan HUB.
  • Back-Connect / Reverse-Connector Compatible MOBO Tray.
  • 2 Grommets on the MOBO Tray
  • Removable PSU Filter - Partial - Removed from the Back
  • ARGB Lighting around the perimeter of the PSU Shroud
  • Pretty Long Fan/ARGB/Front Pannel Cables
  • A Bag of Screws for the MOBO/SSDs/HDDs/PSU along with some Zip Ties and Clips

The ARGB Hub appears to be controllable via the MOBO, but comes Wired to use the Button on the Front of the Case to Control the included ARGB Devices. I could not test MOBO Control as the MOBO I used was so old it did not even have ARGB Headers.

Some things to Note:

  • This Case offers a Back-Connect / Reverse-Connector MOBO Tray.

*** Warning *** The back of your MOBO will be exposed to anything Metal that may come from the Back. Be very careful of Extra Wires and where you leave them when Wiring your Case. Some of the Connectors have exposed Metal on them and will Short Out your Build if not handled properly.

  • The Space between the Bottom Edge of a Standard ATX MOBO is small, but it is there.
  • The HDD Plate straddles over the Back of your MOBO, behind where your CPU would be. You might want to Install your HDDs first as this plate is heavy and awkward to put in place when populated. A Full Size HDD may also cause some issues when wiring your CPU Power (see pics for example) My PSU CPU Power Cable was just long enough and still fit when the Right Side Panel was closed.
  • Please make sure that your Right Side Panel is FULLY Installed before moving your Case. I did have it fall off cause it was not clipped in properly.
  • I'd suggest putting the Left Side Panel on AFTER the Front Panel, when closing up your Case. I did it the other way around the first time and the noise it made gave me quite the scare.

Conclusion: I am not sure I would recommend this Case to a new builder. I have Shorted Out a Build when the inside of a MOLEX Connector was touching the Case. This Case with the widely open MOBO Tray is just asking for trouble from the uninitiated. Generally, I am down with the Learning from your mistakes. But I got lucky that my PSU took the hit back then. And I legit almost routed a number of Cables with exposed Metal towards the Danger Zone during this build.

Otherwise, like I said before. This is a SOLID Case. I do not build on a Desk or Upright. My Cases spend a lot of time doing Acrobatics during a build. Of Course I had the Glass Off the Case during that time. But I did not fear of breaking the Case

The PSU Shroud area seems BIG, but my PSU (see pics) is Pretty Small. I feel that if I had populated more of PSUs Cables, it would have been a really tight fit down there.

Oh, that GPU I installed in there is an ASUS 1080TI Turbo. Which, compared to an RX 9070XT, is almost tiny! Just something to consider if you intend to use the front of this case to display Taller Items.

If you are looking for a Great Case, for a Great Price and you don't need room for more than 2 HDDs, then this Case is well worth it. They say you get what you pay for... But in this Case, I think you are getting more!

My thoughts on Window (Dual) Camera W101

Disclaimer:
My setup is not ideal for an outdoor view window cam. I live on the 15th floor, so I have dual pane glass with 24/7 light sources coming from all directions The Camera also has at least 4 hrs of direct sunlight every day. Depending on weather. Your mileage may vary.

Things I like:

  • It sticks to a well cleaned window really well. It has even survived multiple relocations; and hrs of direct sunlight on the daily. It has also survived a weeks worth of high 20's Celsius indoor temps.
  • I have had zero problems with connectivity, and it's fast! It will work with 2.4 and 5Ghz, which is not a given
  • It is powered by USB-C, comes with a long cord, and Includes the power supply. It also comes with 2 mounting... things.
  • Setup was easy (if it stalls at 98%, just wait a bit), the App is more than useful, and responsive. It offers local (micro SD - not included - no internal storage) and cloud storage, A.I. detection and search features.
  • It is very privacy aware, with a physical cap for the internal cam and software blocks for both cams.
  • The inside cam is adjustable and is ir night vision capable.

Things I don't like:

  • I do not like that the inside cam does not offer the same monitoring features as the outside cam (that whole privacy focused thing). It is my biggest gripe and I hope they change this in the future.
  • The outdoor cam is fixed. So you can't angle the view. Which may be a limit of it being a window cam, where glare from inside and out can be a real headache.
  • I don't like how much of the App is dedicated to the A.I. and storefront. Especially when most of those features(?) don't seem applicable to this camera.
  • I don't like how you cannot seem to turn off cloud storage at will. If you have it, it's using it. Even when you have local storage installed.

Summary:
There are a lot of features that this dual cam offers that I can't take advantage of. That combined with my location in space, means that in it's current configuration, it's not meant for people like me.
But, I have seen what it can do in a proper setting and I find myself wanting.

v5.2.2 Slow to complete

Multiple times just now, qBit said download complete and moved to seeding as usual.

BUT the actual files aren't showing up in the completed folder at the same time, like they usually do.

Like seeding was saying 2, but in the folder I'm only seeing 1 etc..

They all eventually show, but it took long enough to make me think I was or wasn't seeing things.

I just updated to this version last night.

Anyone else notice an appreciable gap between when it says complete to when it actually shows in the completed folder?

RX 9070 XT Base Fan Speed

My question is simple enough.

Are there any measurable, negative effects, in running a min 20% Fan Speed on these Normally 0 Fan Speed Cards?

For that matter, are there any benefits?

Thanks

PeerBlock List was preventing Wi-Fi Internet!?

Today I decided I was going to solve my lingering Wi-Fi problem or buy a new Card.

And with Windows having that new update, I figured why the heck not give it one last go.

It didn't fix the problem.

But, I had a bunch of other programs that wanted to do updates too, so off I went.

It was during one of the Restarts and me not loading all my usual programs that the Wi-Fi started working again.

Okay sweet! I'll just load up all my usual programs and get on with the day... But, not too long later, the dang Wi-Fi stopped working again.

Wi-Fi shows connected, but no Internet. And the only hint I could find was a blurb saying DHCP Server not found. Or something like that anyways.

Now, I will not bore you with all the things I did to try and solve this before today, since none of it worked anyways. Suffice it to say, I tried all the things... Multiple times.

Anyways, it seems that a custom Block List I've been running in PeerBlock was the culprit all along.

And I have been using PeerBlock for years and never had a problem with Wi-Fi. So it never occurred to me that it could have been the cause.

I don't know the why's or how's, but I have been testing it On and Off all day. And my discovery seems to be verified.

If I run PeerBlock with that List Enabled, sooner or later, my problem comes back. No Wi-fi Internet.

If I turn that List Off. My problem goes away...

But neither happens instantly. It seems to take some time between when I switch the list On or Off before the Wi-Fi decides if it's going to play nice or not.

Which is weird and I'm still not sure why this happens. But It sure did slow down my efforts.

King 95 Pro Storage Thermal Comparison

I found this kind of Interesting and thought I would share.

This is with Stock Fans, except for the 2 Fans on my Tower Cooler

Drive C: is NVME under MOBO shield right under the CPU and above GPU

Drives E - I: Bottom of the Case, in a Line, Side by Side

Drive L: Is an External NVME SSD mounted to the back of the case in front of the Rear Case Fan

Drives W/Y: Are in the HDD Cage above the PSU

Drive Z: Is an External Drive sitting behind the Case, right beside the PSU

Ambient Room Temp is 25 Degrees Celsius

All the Drives are a mix bag: Seagate's x 5, WD (Drive C), Toshiba, Lexar (Drive L)

None of them were doing anything out of the ordinary when image was taken

Make of it what you will I guess. I just found it an interesting visual

[Desktop Web] Cross Post I didn't ask for

I made a post to r/MontechPC yesterday and couple hours ago I got a message from  r/techsupport (submit page with my entire Montech post) saying my post may be off-topic.

Thing is, I did not post to anything other than Montech.
I checked my "posts" under my profile and it only shows the Montech... And I'm pretty certain that I didn't post to multiple communities at time of posting, or after.

I am Joined on MontechPC but not techsupport

King 95 Pro and Wireless

So ever since I got my King 95 Pro my Wireless seems to be very limited.

My PC is in the same place and orientation it has always been and yet my Wireless Mouse, Keyboard, BT Game Controller, etc., gets spotty within a couple feet.

I did get a new Wireless (more powerful, replacing a generations old Card) Add-in Card around the same time. And I am trying to figure out if it is the Case or the new Card that is causing the problem.

My BT Controller connects to the new Wireless Card but the Mouse & Keyboard connect via the Logitech Unified Receiver that it always has. The Logitech Receiver is still in the front USB Port of the Case and the Wi-Fi is out the back, same as the old Card. The only difference there is that the old Card used Antennae that were wired and the new card has them physically attached.

I've tried the USB Receiver in different Ports and I've tried the Antennae in all sorts of directions, but nothing seems to solve the issue.

Thoughts?
