I got a job in my home town and need to move out

So I’m currently living back with my mum due to severe burnout and mental health issues, come to find out living with her makes everything worse and her empathy only extends so far.

Well, I’ve just started a job with the intention to move out, but I’m also like I don’t even want to live in this home town anymore but at the same time I need to move out desperately.

I’m kind of torn what to do, whether I should just try to stick it out for 6 or so more months while I work, and then move across the country or just move out now so I can get away and deal with money and moving away later down the line?

Any advice will be appreciated

Do you have to sign things in person at most letting agents?

I had a viewing on Saturday, I spoke to the estate agent today expressing that I would like to move forward with the place, he said can I come into the agency tomorrow, I asked if they are open after five since that is when I finish work, he rudely said we will not accommodate around you.

Since I am working 9-5 Monday to Friday I’m not sure what to do, also since it is a new job I feel stressed about asking to extend a lunch break so I can go there.

Is it normal to have to go and sign everything in person, he said he’d email me over some other forms too so I’m confused about why I’d would need to do the in person proof etc this early?

Really at a loss at what to do and feeling hopeless, are other agents more lenient with their terms or is it like this everywhere?

What’s with estate agents?

So I did a viewing for a place on Saturday, did it Saturday since I work Monday to Friday 9-5 in a job I’ve just started.

Anyway I spoke to the estate agent today, he said can you come into the office tomorrow- I said yes are you open past 5
He said ‘we are not going to accommodate around you’ when i wasn’t even asking that I just wanted to see how I could fit it in.

I’m trying to work out if I could go on my lunch break as it’s an hour but the place is 25 mins drive away from there, since I’ve just started and don’t want to start asking for things already I’m stressed.

I don’t know if I should just leave it since the agent seems rude, or if I should try and make it work and speak to my new job about leaving for a bit over.

Also I need to know will all estate agents be like this or is it usually a matter of you can sign stuff online? Like will I need to come in to sort stuff out if I go through other estate agents too?
Thanks

I need help with changing career

I’m 30, I’ve just started a job as a forklift operator after 6 months of being in burnout (which I’m still in mind you), I’m living with my mum which is destroying my mental health even more.

I’m currently on the waitlist for ADHD meds, I’ve recently just started on Slynd for my PMDD and been taken off SSRIs after 5 years of being on them.

I was an artist before, a very motivated one and this is what I studied at university when the executive dysfunction started to kick in, the SSRIs took away my creative flair or flair for anything really.

Now I’m realising I have nothing going for me really, but obviously in this capitalist world I need to do something to survive, please could you tell me what you all do and how to get into it as a 30 year old? I want something that can actually earn decent money.

Things I’ve been thinking so far are firefighter- but I don’t like the heat and am claustrophobic when in heavy clothing lol.
Or UX/UI designer- but apparently AI is taking this over and it’s harder to get into now.
I’d also like to do scenic art or set design and I actually met someone recently who said I could do some running for his film company but now that I’m working full time idk if I’ll be able to do it.

Idk I think the task paralysis and executive dysfunction is killing me right now, and I just feel so angry at the world and upset that everything has to be this hard.

I’m on waitlist to get assessed for autism too, I also probably have CPTSD from growing up with a narcissistic mother which I am realising a lot recently since living with her again and since I’ve been sober as of 4 months.

What are you actually supposed to do if you don’t have a guarantor?

I know this country hates poor people and this just reinforces it- it seems genuinely impossible to rent a flat if you don’t have a guarantor? So what are poor people supposed to do?

Please don’t say live with your parents to save up for a house, because some of our parents are pieces of shite but that’s another issue entirely.

Please if you have any experience with not having a guarantor in the past year and what you did please let me know.

This will also be my first time renting so there’s that to add to the mix

I hate my mother so much

It actually hurts the amount I hate her,
I’ve had to move back in with her due to financial issues and mental health problems, well that may have been the worst decision I ever made as my mental health problems are 10 times worse and now I feel so stuck I don’t even know what to do anymore.

Also coming to realise the reason I even have all these problems in the first place is to do with her, why I can’t keep a relationship and I run away

My mother is so critical of every little thing I do, every thing I say she has a rebuttal to it. It is impossible to have a conversation with her and then when she asks me why I can’t she also cannot take any criticism and starts with the manipulation of ‘after all I did for you’ I am honestly starting to realise just how emotionally immature and how much of an awful witch she really is.

She raised me in an authoritarian way, and made me scared of the world, and has basically ruined my mind and I don’t know what the fuck to even do, as soon as I get out of here I don’t think I want to speak to her ever again. She would never try to work on herself either and I know that for a fact.

She also acts so nice to my cousins who are similar ages and seeing the difference in how she treats them is upsetting, she’s so fake and I know she paints a picture of me as being a terrible evil person, but in reality it’s her and I hate her for that.

This was just a rant but it would be great to know I’m not alone in this shit and there is a way out

Anyone on testosterone

I am kind of unsure what to do right now, I (transmasc) have decided I would like to go on T, but I haven’t started a process of getting a gender dysphoria diagnosis or anything right now.

I’ve kind of been considering diy-ing it but I’m speaking to the doctor tomorrow since I’ve been tapering off escitalopram so we can work at a baseline to see what would help my PMDD.

I don’t even know if it’s worth mentioning this as I don’t want to lose her help,

Also I know she’ll probably suggest birth control so another question is like if you were on bc and started T did this affect anything for you?

Anyone here have experience with slynd

So I’m gonna talk to my doctor tomorrow, I’ve been tapered off escitalopram which I have now Been off for a couple of months now and things haven’t been great.

I’m still on a waitlist for adhd meds and still got about 4 months left to wait.

My doctor previously offered me slynd and I’m wondering if I should suggest trying this now, anyone have some experience they can share with me or what i should even ask for at this point?

Honestly just want a hysterectomy and to go on testosterone that’s a whole other story though

Anyone in the UK here on PIP?

I have a PIP phone call next in a couple weeks, and I’m just wondering if anyone receives it for these reasons and could tell me a bit about how you answered questions etc.

I know you’re meant to talk about your worst days but I don’t really get what you’re meant to actually say, like I’m not working at the moment so shall I basically make out like I can’t do anything?

Thank you in advance, any help and advice would be appreciated

I think I have BPD and am looking into doing DBT

I have been doing a lot of research and come to the realisation there’s a high chance I have BPD, I’m now looking into doing DBT but seeing how expensive it is and how often you have to go, I don’t know if I can afford to do that.

I wanted to hear peoples experience of it and also how did you manage to afford it and attend? As I can’t even hold a job down due to being so unwell, and I have virtually no money, it’s seeming a bit hopeless and like I may aswell just give up before even trying

But if it genuinely helps maybe I should just try to start attempting to stick to it and healing.

(I came to the realisation since I’ve recently come off my meds and starting dating again and realising how out of control I am with relationships and unable to regulate my nervous system in any way whatsoever , along with constant switching up on people and never truly feeling whole, just constant emptiness, and much more but that’s the general summary of it)
