How to make friends in Taipei

Hey everyone! I’m 25M and recently moved to Taipei. I’m pretty introverted by nature, so most of my hobbies are things I tend to do on my own like basketball, fashion, anime, etc.

I’d really like to get out of my comfort zone and meet some people, especially other people around my age.

For those of you who are younger and/or also more introverted, how have you been able to socialize and make friends in Taiwan? Are there any activities, groups, apps, or places that you’ve found good for meeting people?

Would love to hear what’s worked for you!

What do you actually hate about pickleball apparel right now?

Early research for a possible pickleball apparel idea that leans more into high performance fabrics combined w heritage old money vibes. Not selling anything, no links, just trying to learn from people who actually play.

If you play regularly:

  1. What's your biggest frustration with pickleball clothing right now?
  2. Does most current pickleball apparel feel too generic, too expensive, too much like repurposed tennis/running gear, or just not functional enough for the sport?
  3. What do you wish tops, shorts, skorts, or dresses did better — pockets for balls, sweat handling, fit, freedom of movement?
  4. Would you wear something more design-forward / actually good-looking if it still nailed performance (breathable, secure fit, real pockets)? Or do you not care how it looks as long as it works?
  5. What's a fair price for a really good pickleball top or bottom?

Honest answers only — including if you think this is a dumb idea. Appreciate it!

Starting my entreprenuer journey and need some guidance

So I recently quit my finance job and have decided to fully embrace my passion for fashion and pickleball. I am in the midst of starting up my pickleball brand while also running a social media account where I am yapping about mens fashion and I'm ngl it's really fucking frustrating.

I feel like I'm not moving forward fast enough and have had barely any traction. I understand that I have only given this thing half a year or so but fuck man. There are times when out of nowhere in the middle of the day I get hella anxious and get stuck in my head thinking "what the fuck am I doing w my life?".

I don't regret choosing to do this because I feel drawn to fashion and have a strong conviction that this is my purpose in life. But holy fuck, I never expected these waves of emotions. There is huge amounts of uncertainty to deal w and I am navigating this entirely alone. It's like I am in the middle of the ocean w a paddle and told to paddle north until I see my goal.

Do any of you feel like this? How do you address these feelings?

Ive been super active my whole life and have pretty much lived in Nike gear. Recently upgraded to Lululemon and honestly the difference in quality is night and day. But then I came across this article.

So now I'm down the rabbit hole. Started looking into natural fiber brands that use merino wool for activewear. But the more I research, the more I notice that a lot of the "polyester is toxic" messaging comes from brands that are literally selling you the alternative. Hard to know what's genuine concern vs marketing.

From what I can find, the science isn't super conclusive that wearing polyester activewear poses a meaningful health risk. Yeah PFAS are bad, and yeah your skin is more permeable when you're sweating, but the actual dose you'd absorb through your gym shirt seems pretty small compared to PFAS in drinking water, food packaging, cookware etc.
