Hey, fellow cozies!
Some of you might remember Library of Lyria - the cozy library game my husband and I have been working on for roughly the last four years. From top down view to 3rd person over-the-shoulder view to the new visual glow-up: The game has come far. And we're by far not finished, yet.

How do you like the new style?
Personally, we're super happy we (especially my husband Jan) put so much work into this new look. The game feels way friendlier and cozier. He's also cut a new teaser trailer, which we will show you at a later time!

About the game:
You restore a magical library and turn a ruin into a wonderful, enchanted place that you fill with new life. Run the library, craft enchanted books, cater to unique readers and explore a whimsical world in this cozy sandbox, farm and management sim. Uncover ancient secrets and bring forgotten knowledge back to life!

It's still in heavy development. We're planning on releasing the demo version in about a year from now and participating in the Steam Next Fest in Fall 2027. Early Access Release will come shortly after. Yes, EA sucks most of the time (we know) but we're always trying to develop the game WITH you and listen to your voices - that's why we ask actively for your opinions here on Reddit and on our Discord. We also decided EA was a route we have to go because we're working on this game next to working full time and raising a toddler, as well as paying for all the artists, assets etc. from our own savings.

We did apply for governmental funding but we still haven't heard back from them, yet. Fingers crossed we get it, so we can develop a little more freely and are finally able to pay for really awesome artists who will overhaul the complete UI and illustrations, all the NPCs and compose custom music for our game over the next year!

Dear cozies!
Some of you might have seen this game here already a while back. We've been working hard on our cozy library game in the meantime (and also have a toddler now haha).
For more than 3 years now, my husband and I have been working on our dream project: a cozy library lifesim called Library of Lyria. We're preparing a demo for the Steam Next Fest in October and we need your help!

In order to bring out the best possible demo version, we need as much feedback as we can get and help squishing those last nasty bugs! The playtest is LIVE and will run until Sept. 6, 2026!

Just click on the "Join the Playtest" button and you should be good to go! If you have feedback or find bugs, you can use the ingame "Report a Problem" button in the ESC-menu. OR you can join our Discord!

Please keep in mind: Controller support is NOT YET implemented to a 100%. You can play most of the game with your controller but there might still be some parts that you would need mouse + keyboard for. The only supported platform is PC for now. We are planning on porting the game to other OS and consoles but this will take time.

Plus: The game itself is still in heavy development. Most of the illustrations you see will be replaced during the development phase leading up to the Early Access release. We bought most of the illustrations from independent artists/asset packs and I painted some myself but we already know someone who will make us completely custom illustrations for our game. The vibe will stay the same but the illustrations will be custom-handmade in the (hopefully near) future.
