Seen a growing opinion that balance doesn't matter & devs should stop it...but what about the underpowered guns? We can't leave them weak. I get not wanting unwarranted nerfs, but we should be all about fixing bad guns.

First off, I get not wanting your favorite weapons nerfed especially if they aren't even OP. Like I am very familiar with the Coyote nerf. Was it very strong compared to most ARs? Yes, absolutely it was. Was it super strong compared to explosive meta? No, I would argue it wasn't and still isn't.

I was personally impacted by the ancient flamethrower nerfs and nerfs to Arc Thrower. Also very ancient nerfs to Lasercannon. These were 3 of my favorite support weapons in the game and I think the grand majority of these changes were not necessary, and the devs reverted most of those bad changes thankfully. I get this spite 100%

However, balance shouldn't be stopped. We just need to change the focus. The focus is currently on trying to keep any heads from poking up. Imo this is fine as a concept but it is weird they would nerf coyote and leave explosive primaries nearly as strong as support Grenade Launcher. This is odd to me, personally, and these same patches will also leave bad guns alone forever like the Sterilizer which was only recently touched.

Imo we still need balance passes, but primarily for all the FORGOTTEN WEAPONS & STRATAGEMS THAT NEED LOVE. Not to club overperformers, as buffing bad weapons will inherently make those weapons less OP.

Just my opinion. Balance matters a lot and can breathe life into the game by providing more viable options. Viable options dont always need to be shiny new paid content guys. The consumer mentality is at large in this discussion.
