There needs to be appropriate infrastructure in place to deliver electricity.

There needs to be appropriate infrastructure in place to deliver electricity.

The GERD is a massive achievement and kudos to that success. But without appropriate infrastructure in place to deliver the power it is not reaching it's potential.

Why do you think there are so many power cuts ?

How many of you store reference letters as an attending?

I am wondering if an online storage service like Interfolio used in medschool is worth it for future jobs as an attending

TY!

Inside the Human Trafficking Scam affecting Ethiopians

AGI Podcast, host Abraham Asrat sits down with Judah Tana — Founder and International Director of Global Advance Projects. Judah is one of the very few people on the front lines of a crisis you have probably never heard of, but should terrify you.

Over the last four years, Judah has personally returned over 2,000 Ethiopians and more than 6,000 Africans from purpose-built "scam cities" in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos. These are not random victims. They are educated people — university graduates, people with PhDs, people with careers — who were lured by fake job ads for data entry, tech support, and customer service. Once they arrive, they are held by armed militias, forced to work 18-hour days, and trained to steal life savings from people in the West.

To preface, I am Canadian but went to residency and am practicing in the states.

I don't know all of the details completely but I have a 15 yo cousin in Canada, who woke up with complete inability to walk, she otherwise has no past medical history. She went to the ER twice and was discharged twice after just labwork, the 2nd time was told to follow up with neurology who did an outpatient EEG which was normal. She is now 3-4 weeks out and has regained some ability to walk slowly but uses a cane is still way off her baseline and so is undergoing physical therapy. I still don't think they have diagnosed her with anything yet.

I am just curious because if this were me this would have been an instant admission and probably lumbar puncture, brain MRI, inpatient neuro consult etc.

I still don't understand why she wasn't admitted. Is this typical of the Canadian system? I feel like she has a great case for a lawsuit.

New attending here. I have Geico for auto insurance and I am looking for umbrella insurance and am considering going with Geico, however I was wondering what ya'll experience is with them for umbrella insurance? They are also asking me to get renters insurance policy through them which I don't have but don't need so I am wondering if everything is worth it.

I am applying to a per diem hospitalist position in SoCal.

I was just asked by them what is my hourly rate. I thought that the hospital determined the hourly rate? What should I say is a good hourly rate ?

Do 1099 hospitalist set their own hourly rate ?

I am currently at a W2 position so I am kind of confused.
