Accidental torture test on Arkfeld Ultra

I had to drop my son off for a field trip this morning at 6am. On the way, I noticed I had a headlight out. When I got to the drop off I decided to change it real quick since I had a spare in my car. I drive a Durango and the access to the front lights is in the wheel well. I turned my Olight on and rested it on top of the tire so I could see what I was doing. I guess with the distraction of other parents showing up and it just being really early, I just left the flashlight sitting on top of the tire. After I made sure my son was on the bus, I backed out of the parking spot. I heard a knock and felt a slight bump. I knew immediately what it was. I had run over my Arkfeld Ultra on asphalt. To my surprise, everything still works perfectly fine. There are some scrapes on the body and selector switch and the pocket clip is a lot tighter than before but I’m impressed with how well it held up. I’m kinda digging the character it has now. It definitely has a story now.

Kutmaster Stockman

Got my first Kutmaster in the mail today. Just finished cleaning, polishing and sharpening. I don’t really know much about them. Anyone have an idea how old it is? I couldn’t find much online.

2007 Case Mini Trapper Cat’s Eye Corelon 9207 SS

Found this guy in a pawn shop today. The blades are in great shape. Looks like it was just carried in a pocket but hardly used. After a little polishing, it will shine like new money.

Today’s find and little project

Found this Queen #9110 today at a yard sale. It was missing the shield and the main clip point blade had a little wobble. I tightened and peened the pivot pin to fix the wobble. Then sanded it down to even it out. For the badge, I cut the end of a 22lr shell to size and glued it in place. Then just some final sanding and buffing followed by some sharpening and oiling. It’s now ready to go in my pocket.

Picked this up at an antique store today for $14. Both blades had broken tips. I ground down the kicks and reprofiled both blades. The master blade was missing a good 1/2 inch. It looks odd compared to the length of the handle but it is fully functional and the handles are a thing of beauty. Don’t know much about Ulster but I’m glad to add this to my collection.
