Decided to try some gloss black touches…

Been wanting to tie in some more of the cars factory gloss black on my GTS. It has gloss black mirrors as standard and a gloss black front grill. Gloss black diamond cut alloys (so with silver surface and gloss black inner parts)

Tried on some gloss black headlight eyelids to go with the grill and some gloss black inserts for the front VW badge (rear badge comes with black in centre of VW badge already)

Next I’m looking at doing gloss black rear spoiler, side skirts, front splitter and diffuser (with exhaust upgrade) Nothing mad they will all be subtle looking like the eyelids.

Then repaint the roof arial gloss black (from Matt) and the lower front bumper lip Matt black parts turn those into gloss black too to complete the look.

What you think ? Go down the route does it sound alright to you?

Man these are so much fun (here’s my mods)

These things are sooo much fun, the exhaust just takes it up another level. Pretty happy how she came out - all work was done back in 2016 (how time flies)

Safe riding folks.

Looking to buy first Mini

Currently have a Scirocco GTS 2016 DSG (been driving more VWs than anything else over my lifetime) Looking for something out of the norm for me and want to try something I haven’t before.

Decided I want to try a Mini Cooper S, I believe pre 2014 reliability was pretty poor - what would you say about the 2018 ? It’s got the B48 and I believe has the updated chain and some stuff sorted with the 2018?

One I’m interested in has 32k on clock in manual (haven’t driven manual for quite some time) going back to roots again thought I maybe should with this one. Also decided on manual due to hearing some stories of stage 1 mapped cooper S having gearbox limp modes but the manual doesn’t have that problem?

What other bits will creep up as an issue in its life that will need doing at some point (outside of oil, spark plugs, coils, brakes etc) are these timing chains solid now? Water pump solid?

What is up with the used car market - private vs trade price?

Anyone else think the gap between private and trade in is way to large? Last I remember things were like maybe £1500 difference - not close to 4k difference that just seems unreasonable.
