I was reading Gone with the Wind almost exactly 50 years ago for the first time when it aired on NBC. November 7-8-1976. I was 9. (I had been reading my mom's books for a while.)
She lent the book to somebody and lost it, but it was always supposed to be part of my inheritance. (I have it now in another edition, of course}. That particular one was the first one I ever read. Wow. 50 freakin' years,
For some reason I just figured out that Carreen O'Hara and Beth March are basically the same character in my head. It kind of makes me laugh.
