Do women actually like it when a guy writes letters to his future partner before he’s even met her?

For a while now I’ve been writing letters every week or two. They’re addressed to my future partner, like I’m talking straight to her even though I haven’t met her yet. Each one is just about what’s going on in my life at that time, what I’m thinking about, my hopes, my goals, stuff like that. Basically what I’d want her to know if she’d been there with me this whole time.

I write them on flashcards and put the date on each one. I’m at around 200 of them now.

So my question for women here is simple. If a guy gave you a stack like this to read one day, would that mean something to you? Or would it feel like too much instead of sweet? Just trying to figure out if this is actually a nice thing to keep doing or if I’m overthinking it.

Do women actually like it when a guy writes letters to his future partner before he’s even met her?

I (22M) For a while now I’ve been writing letters every week or two. They’re addressed to my future wife like I’m talking straight to her even though I haven’t met her yet. Each one is just about what’s going on in my life at that time, what I’m thinking about, my hopes, my goals, stuff like that. Basically what I’d say to her if she’d been there with me when writing that specific letter.

I write them on flashcards and put the date on each one. I’m at around 90 of them now.

So my question for women here is simple. If a guy gave you a stack like this to read one day, would that mean something to you? Or would it feel like too much instead of sweet? Just trying to figure out if this is actually a nice thing to keep doing or if I’m overthinking it. And how would be a good way of showing them to a future partner?

dark age question

On the day of the Red, when Virginia got attacked by the abomination, how did he get control over the whole of Luna that quickly? The citadel, everything: he just took control of it within a space of a day and Virginia, even after leaving the palace. Is it because the vox Populi had control of the fleet? How did she just lose the whole of Luna within the space of a day?

Finished dark age got questions

  1. Atlas au Raa and Atalantia
Atlas was Lysander's father's best friend, and Octavia exiled him specifically because he knew she'd killed Lysander's father. So why is he now loyally working for Atalantia the very person who killed Lysander's parents? That feels contradictory to his history.

  2. The Mind's Eye
This is never really explained properly in the book. Is it just a sixth sense? And is it connected to or similar to whatever ability Lyria has?

  3. The Jackal Clone
Not a fan of this. The Jackal was a great villain but his arc was complete by the end of the first trilogy. A clone just feels like retreading old ground.

  4. Lilath's Survival at Morningstar
How did she survive the bombing from the Ash Lord and Darrow's ships? There isn't a single line addressing it. How?

  5. Apollonius on Venus
What was he actually doing there — just attacking Atalanta's ships? And how was he communicating with Lysander, particularly after Lysander got wounded by Darrow mid-book?

  6. Lysander vs Alexandar
Alexandar has far more combat experience and presumably faster reaction times, so how did Lysander manage to catch him off guard, knock him out, and then shoot him in the head? That felt like a stretch.

  7. Lysander as a Villain
Everything Lysander does makes sense for his character and his belief in Gold supremacy. He's not cartoonishly evil like the Jackal or Atlas. You could even argue Darrow in his position might make similar choices (minus killing children, though Lysander probably crossed that line too). He's a great villain and deserved more page time.

  8. Virginia/Mustang's Downfall
Her fatal flaw is trying so hard not to be her father that she bends over backwards to maintain this ideal Republic. That rigidity and reluctance to be feared or ruthless is exactly what made her vulnerable — nobody truly feared her as a sovereign, so she kept getting walked over.

  9. The Luna Mob Takeover
How exactly did the mob reach the Senate and Virginia? Why didn't the Reapers hold? Where was Holiday during all of this? It felt like Luna just... fell, with very little explanation of how the security completely collapsed.

  10. Lysander's Mother and Nero
Octavia discovered her own daughter (Lysander's mother) was conspiring against her and had her killed. But the text also mentions Nero was part of the plot — did Octavia not know about Nero's involvement? What happened there? (You noted this may be addressed in Lightbringer.)

is darrow an exception

I'm a third of the way through Dark Age, and there's a moment where Darrow compliments Ajax and attributes his exceptional martial ability to carrying two apex bloodlines on top of the Grimmus line. It got me thinking — how much do genetics actually dictate martial prowess among Golds in this series? And since Darrow is a carving rather than a born Gold, does that make him an exception to that rule, or do his Red genes still contribute to his ability in some way? Also, would the Society or anyone else ever attempt more carvings to produce soldiers like Darrow, or is he genuinely a one-of-a-kind specimen?

Questions I have

I'm about a third of the way through Dark Age and have a few questions.

First, where were characters like Atlas and Ajax during the first trilogy did they simply not participate, or is there an in-world reason they weren't present?

Second, is the Mars Institute considered the best? It seems like it must be, given it produced Darrow, Tactus, Mustang, Cassius, Roque, Antonia, and the Jackal basically the cream of the crop. The other Institutes don't seem to come close. I'd have assumed Luna's would be the strongest given it's the capital, but apparently not.

Third, who was Romulus's son that Darrow briefly saw before meeting Romulus in Morning Star?

Fourth, how are Atlas, Ajax, and Diomedes supposed to be a credible threat to Darrow? Based on what we've seen, Darrow is roughly on Aja's level and Aja was considered the best fighter in the solar system by the time of Morning Star. How can those three realistically compete with him? On a related note, how has Ajax become so formidable given he's supposedly around Lysander's age? Also who tf is atlas and why does he make darrow scared of him like he is aja like hes greater than darrow.

Fifth, is Alexander Arcos a genuine prodigy even beyond Darrow at the same age? Thraxa seemed to suggest as much, which is a bold claim.

Finally, how do Golds end up without the Peerless title after the Rising both within the Republic and within what remains of their own society?

Let’s say Octavia plan worker Darrow and Augustus dead and family including jackal and the rest. What would Virginia and fitchner do and what would evryone else do like in reaction like other families

Lowkey feel bad for Cassius

Knowing he still in love and she played him and never in love with him and in the 10 yrs still in grief over her wedding. She really played the poor boy. Hope poor Cassius gets a partner he deserves

Viriginia at and fitchner gala

If it wasn’t for gala for having a whole life crisis and challenging Cassius her whole family would’ve been doomed. As she didn’t know Octavia was gonna do that. Also did fitchner know also that they were gonna kill Darrow cos he was part of the Augustus family. Did Virginia even have Darrow as part of her plans in gala before they were in contact and if not how long would she be with Cassius or her palms if her whole family and Darrow killed by octavia. Same with fitchner too. Also did mustang not know Darrow had Lorn training they were on luna together so I’m surprised she who was with him at time ddidnt know especially considering they were together. Sorry for rambling but any answers helpful thanks.

How did Darrow get theodora as his personal person

If a rose gold is as valuable as a stained then Theodora would be as valuable as Ragnar and Ragnar value is quoted many times like how high it is. So how did Darrow at start of golden son have theodora serving him if rose golds that expensive?

First trilogy

My top 3 moments were gala scene. How many Ls Darrow took his girl didn’t belive in him and was at his arch nemesis Augustus abandoned him. He was at wits end. Second when sons of ares claw they to snatch him up at start of morning star. And third the 4v1 on aja

Is dark age considerably better than Iron gold

I’ve finished iron gold it wasn’t as bad as ppl said but it was definetly a setup book. Is dark age really that much better and does it have peak moments like golden son gala or morning star darrows escape and the 4v1 on aja

Darrow in iron gold

I really did not like Darrow in iron gold. He seemed how Lysander describes him a war monger even seveo cut ties with him for a bit. He seemed to be like the ashlord where he had no humanity just win the war nothing else matters. No real smarts of him back in first trilogy no light side just serious and blunt and there was no charisma. In fact I’d go as far to say I enjoyed Lysander and appolionus tho applolionus is an entertaining chaos and Lysander is cunning but is not a force of strength like Darrow
